Would you have/ go to a baby shower now?

I'm in the process of arranging a small baby shower (20 guests - 75% family and 25% my closest friends). It's booked at the moment for November but I'm starting to get a bit..... unsure?? I'm due 6 weeks after the shower and holding it in November before Christmas gets into full swing etc.

Main reason is obviously covid. My mum has an undiagnosed respiratory condition and some other members of the family invited have asthma etc. They have all said they want to come - we have a small private venue booked.

I work in healthcare, so I am fully aware of the local number of cases and hospital admissions, and things aren't getting any better where I am.

My DH is concerned as I'm obviously pregnant, and we both know that the health board is preparing for another bad spell this winter (certainly the case where we work).

What I'm asking is, would you go to a baby shower in November? Would you feel comfortable?
I'm swaying more to cancel it, but my mum says to wait a few weeks and decide then.
WWYD?

I'm double vaccinated and 23 weeks currently. I would attend a baby shower/small social event at the moment without a second thought as I know I'm taking sensible precautions and I don't feel on balance I should be hiding forever.

The main issues I would consider with organising a shower for that number in November is that it's likely to need to be indoors and restrictions might have changed a lot by then going into winter so the decision might be out of your hands anyway. If you're ok with planning to then not go ahead then it's less of an issue.

The other issue is if you were to catch covid so late in pregnancy (aside from the obvious risks) you could find that your birth plans are massively impacted and if the shower was the source, it's likely that a lot of your nearest and dearest will be ruled out of supporting you as well. That's probably what would sway it for me so if it was something I really wanted to do I'd probably arrange it earlier than November.

I definitely wouldn't attend. My friend recently went to a wedding - all guests double vaccinated and requested to take a covid test before. Everyone, bar my friend, ended up getting covid. Some of them very unwell despite being double vaccinated! I just wouldn't take the risk during pregnancy

@Milkbottlelegs

Not sure I would view 20 people as a small baby shower to be honest.
It would depend on the size of the room

Thanks for everyone's input.

I've decided I'm not going to go ahead with it.
Whilst I'm double vaccinated, it still doesn't stop me from catching it and spreading it too.
