Is there a line or am I just desperate to see one

Is there a line or am I just imagining it/ it's an indentation line? Been trying for 9 months since a mc so I'm desperate.

Not due my period for a few days and had a similar line on a fr a couple of days ago. Other tests have been negative but I usually find fr the most sensitive anyway.

Thanks x

Yay congrats!!!

Jokat · 20/09/2021 11:02

How is the spotting today? Is it still just brown?

jojojo82 · 20/09/2021 11:13

Congratulations! Just wanted to say that I also experienced a bit of brown spotting around the days when my period was due, having got a faint positive that morning (which would have been too late for it to be implantation bleeding), and I'm now 25 weeks :)

I hope all is ok for you too!

emmle · 20/09/2021 11:31

Congratulations 💗

babysnowman · 20/09/2021 12:04

Thanks everyone x

@Jokat The spotting is just very small amounts of brown in discharge this morning. Did another couple of tests this morning, the lines on the fr look about the same (my husband says this morning is darker but I'm not sure). And the cb digital says 1-2 weeks again.

Hope, hope, hope it's all ok.

I'm sorry but I can only see one line. Hope you get the result you want though

Derbee · 20/09/2021 13:22

@babysnowman I have had brown discharge for the last couple of weeks. Had my 12 week scan and everything was fine. I think they say as long as it’s not fresh blood, it’s often ok. Good luck with everything, any spotting is terrifying during pregnancy, and very stressful

Cafeaulait27 · 20/09/2021 15:00

There’s definitely two lines there. Fingers crossed for you!

Nikkic2123 · 20/09/2021 21:04

Congratulations

Jokat · 20/09/2021 21:44

babysnowman that's great to hear! I also had brown discharge, for about a week, when I was around 5 weeks with my first. It seems to be very common. She is 12 years old now.
Even bright blood doesn't necessarily mean a miscarriage, though that would be more worrying. Congratulations on your pregnancy Smile

babysnowman · 21/09/2021 10:13

Thanks everyone.

Still feeling hopeful. The spotting has completely stopped now which is good. Took two tests this morning as I was a bit worried that the the line looked lighter in the first one and strangely I often get darker lines later in the day (the bottom one is the second from today). I would prefer the reassurance of a darker line but it is still definitely there. My husband is getting annoyed at me now because as far as he is concerned everything is fine!!

Just hope that when I next do a CB digital that it goes up to 2-3 weeks.

How many DPO are you for that line in today’s tests?

babysnowman · 21/09/2021 11:28

I think between 12-14

Not good news it seems. Symptoms have disappeared and the first response lines aren't getting any darker, and today I have bleeding.

It's strange, I don't even feel upset yet just numb. This is my fourth early loss now. Thankfully I have a wonderful 2.5 year old which is some comfort. I just don't know why this would keep happening.

Thanks for everyone's kind comments, hopefully it will work out soon x.

Sorry to read your update @babysnowman. I hope the next time is the one. Good luck

Cafeaulait27 · 23/09/2021 22:06

I’m so sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for you next time and great that you have your daughter.

I’m sure you’ve already looked into this but - have you tried aspirin? I had 2 losses and then started taking aspirin from ovulation, the result of that is that I am now 37 weeks with a boy. I really feel that it worked for me. I take 150mg per day. It helps get oxygen and nutrients to the baby which is particularly important in the early weeks xxx

Jokat · 23/09/2021 22:42

I'm so sorry to hear that.
I second the suggestion of taking aspirin, please go and talk to your GP about it. I was put on aspirin during my second pregnancy after my first dc was born 11 weeks early due to spontaneous placental abruption.

babysnowman · 24/09/2021 04:30

Yes, I think I will try aspirin again. I started taking it after my second mc and my third pregnancy was successful. Then I took it on my fourth pregnancy and that ended in a mc so I didn't think it made a difference. I'm going to phone GP and ask, and also ask if they can refer us to someone private to help understand what is going on. Do you know what I should be asking for?

@babysnowman be be prepared for your GP to not have a clue about aspirin. I am so sorry it didn’t seem to work for you this time. Did you take 150mg?

I believe they should refer you to a recurrent miscarriage clinic now - but it depends on your trust, you may need to have had 3 in a row to get any help.

Before I got pregnant the first time, I was referred to a fertility specialist because I’d come off the pill over a year ago and still not had a period so I knew I couldn’t get pregnant without having cycles. The specialist tested my husbands sperm first and actually found his count to be a little low, so he started taking men’s vitamins which seemed to work as it went up a lot the second time it was checked. Does your partner take any vitamins?

I have pcos and my work do a health insurance scheme which gives £200 a year for private consultations, so I also went to a private endocrinologist (hormon specialist) who put me on metformin. I’ve been on it ever since as it made my periods come back and since then I’ve had regular 30 day cycles (apart from right now as I’ve been pregnant for ages). I’m not sure if that’s helpful for you - have you ever been tested for pcos or do you have any of the symptoms? Do you have regular cycles?

I may just be late night rambling but just thought I’d share in case it helps.

So sorry for your loss x

babysnowman · 24/09/2021 05:37

Thanks @Cafeaulait27 . I took the 75mg aspirin on my third pregnancy, I might just buy some and start taking it again anyway.

I pretty much got told by GP that because I have a child that they can't do anything for me through the NHS. They did do blood and lft tests though and all normal. So I know I'll need to go private now but I think I still need a GP referral for that?

No symptoms of PCOS, my periods are regular and I always test for ovulation. We both had the pre conception vitamins but my husband was rubbish at remembering to take them, I'll have to nag him to do it this time! It took 9 months of trying since my last mc in December to fall pregnant this time so although I know it can happen it doesn't happen easily.

@babysnowman ah I see. I’m not sure if they will refer you in this case then, but it’s definitely worth a try.

I would recommend taking 150mg aspirin as that’s the guidelines for pregnancy now. I know it may sound like a lot but the usual amount to take aspirin as a painkiller is 600mg every 4 hours so it is actually still really low.

I actually took 75mg when I had my second mc, and then tried 150mg in this pregnancy and hey presto. I actually self medicated based on what I read here and online in articles and studies, but when I told my midwife at my booking appointment she was fine about it.

Wishing you lots of luck xx

Did you take the 150mg in one dose or 75mg twice a day? I'm doing the same, self-medicating as my GP weren't very helpful when asked about aspiring, but I'm not sure if I should take 75mg twice a day (morning and evening) or 150mg once a day.

Cafeaulait27 · 24/09/2021 13:35

Hi @GinnyBee I take 150mg together after dinner in the evening - apparently it’s best to take it at night and after food ☺️

We really feel like it’s the reason I’ve been able to hang on to this baby 🤞🌈
