Achy legs after pregnancy

I had my baby 5 weeks ago and my legs are SO achy when I bend down / try and get back up (I like to sit on the floor with our fur baby!). I had my baby via a C-Section so I’m not sure if that makes a difference but I just wondered whether anyone else had experienced this? I know it is still early days after my C-Section so maybe I am pushing it a little too soon?

Probably perfectly normal with all the body changes

Vitamin deficiency? I had really low vitamin d after my last c section, and I felt so tired and achey! GP prescribed really high dosage for a couple of months and I felt much better after that

I have felt this too, though I had a vaginal delivery. Baby is 9 weeks. Middle if the night it first thing in the morning it feels like I’m about 80!! Maybe it’s just the body repairing itself or something.

Thanks for the reply ladies! I may mention it to my health visitor at the next visit and see what they say. Maybe I have got a low vitamin deficiency and need a little boost Smile while my body fullhy recovers. Glad to know I am not alone!

YES. Over here 16 weeks pp and they STILL hurt! Definitely not vit D deficient.
Keep an eye on anything you may be doing differently. I’ve found I subconsciously sit weird when feeding baby which I think is massively contributing. It only occurred to me about a week ago so we’ll see if it makes a difference.

Hello baby only days old here so not the same time scale, but I had lots of leg and foot pain during pregnancy, saw a physio who explained that as my gait/centre of balance had changed so dramatically I was putting weight through different parts of my feet and strain on my good/knees and leg muscles in a new way causing soreness and tightness. He said v common and likely to have similar pains on my way to my post birth body

I can completely relate with sitting strangely when feeding baby, not even intentionally! So I am making an extra effort to stop doing that Smile.
@nellly Thanks for your comment! Never really thought of the extra strain that my body faced during pregnancy. Almost expected my body to just recover once I lost my bump but seems as though it takes a while to recover afterwards.
