hiya i have pre-eclampsia with my first but went into labour natually at 37wks thankfully.Ive been told im high risk etc second time around but havent had any more monitoring then usual in fact im seeing a consultant tommarrow but apart from that ive had no extra appointments. Anyway ive had no protein in my wee so far and my bp hasnt gone up too much.I have sarted to get floaters but my mw said not to worry as it was my wee sample shes more interested in.These last few weeks ive been feeling nausea's and have been sick a few times. And ive just noticed my fingers have swelled up slightly but my feet look fine. Also i dont look very big and to me my baby doesnt seem that big despite measuring correctly for my dates. Ive read a few threads before about pe goig undetected-just wondered if anyones symptoms varied second time around?

Last time i started off with the floaters, then gradual increase in bp then my hands and feet swelled up. Reported to mw and my bp was high so was admitted even though i felt perfectly fine it wasnt til after i statred to get the headaches etc.

Hi rosebud, I had PE in my first and so far only pg, so can't comment on different symptoms (was hospitalised at 31 weeks, delivered at 34). On the APEC website there are guidelines for managing PE in the community - it says that if you had have PE in a previous pg you should be monitored at least every 3 weeks from 24-32 weeks and every 2 weeks from 32 weeks to birth. Are you getting this? I'm surprised your mw isn't worried about the floaters, have you had your bp checked since getting them? If not I would turn up and demand someone checks it! In fact I would do this if you have any symptoms that worry you. Far better to take up 10 mins of the mws time than put you and your baby at risk - PE can come on very suddenly and with no symptoms - my bp went up to 200/110 without me noticing. As well as all the symptoms you have mentioned it is important to look out for pain just under your ribs (epigastric pain). Do hope all goes well for you, good luck with the rest of your pg.
