Pregnancy multi-vitamin recommendations

I had my 16 week midwife appointment today and she said since I’m still suffering from morning sickness to keep taking a multi-vitamin to make sure I’m getting everything I need.
Up until week 12, I took Holland and Barrett folic acid because they were really small and I could manage them.
I’ve tried Pregnacare multi to get more of everything but physically cannot swallow them, even if I cut them up.
I’d like to take an appropriate pregnancy multi-vitamin but can’t find one that’s a reasonable size!
If anyone has any good recommendations for a small tablet (similar to the H&B) or even a liquid/chewy vitamin that would be a big help.
Thanks!

Avoid taking general multivitamins as these will likely contain vitamin A which you should avoid during pregnancy. I stopped folic acid at 12 weeks and switched to high strength vitamin D only, which was what my midwife recommended. I agree that the pregnacare ones are huge! (And expensive!)

Thanks for your reply!
I do have small vitamin D tablets which I will start taking as I do feel like that is enough and I know that’s what the NHS website recommends but she got me a little worried today saying I should try and take a multi.
If other midwives say the vit D is enough than I’ll carry on with that then! I cannot face even looking at those expensive Pregnacare ones 😂.

I'm currently 23 weeks and also can't even swallow the Pregnacare ones, they make me vomit. I've been taking folic acid and vitamin D.

I just got told to take folic acid and vit d tablets, I took a combined one ,possibly from boots ,it's a really tiny tablet.

I have recently started on Known - Bump and Me, they are chewy gums. They are so much easier. They are a fair bit more expensive though and you take two a day. They have vitamins C, D, K B12, E and then folic acid biotin and zinc. I got them from amazon.

@TheOpportuneMoment and @whoknew23
That’s comforting to hear. I think I’ll stick with just the vitamin D on its own then. Better that then stressing every day trying to swallow a huge tablet!

@catinthehat12 thanks for the recommendation! I’m going to stick with just the vitamin D for now but look into this one as well in case I really can’t keep food down and need something more.

Sounds a good idea, my diet isn’t great so I like the comfort of the extra vitamins, but if you have a broad diet, I don’t think you need anything extra at all!

I like the Seven Seas pregnancy ones, easily available in supermarkets/Boots etc Smile

Pregnacare do the gummy version but you need a small bank loan for themHmm
I stocked up on the pregnacare tablets on the 3 for 2 offer only to discover I couldn’t get them down with the vomiting and nausea so decided to switch to the gummy version for now. My diet is really bad though so feel I need all the extras I can!
