Hi there

With my baby brain i managed to leave a gas stove on for 7 minutes without realising. Im concerned about the affects of natural gas on my baby. Has anyone ever done this and once baby was born was there any affects from it.

Thanks in advance

it won't do any harm. gas from a stove isn't actually harmful to people...it's highly flammable though which is why it's dangerous.

What is dangerous is carbon monoxide which is when the boiler etc isn't burning properly. you won't get that just from leaving the stove on

7 minutes? Open the door and unclench your butt!

We had a gas leak in our house for at least a week when I was in final weeks of pregnancy. It was strong enough to bring on nausea (which I put down to morning sickness coming back) and for the British Gas guy to almost have a heart attack at the amount of gas pouring into our house. Turned out DH had accidentally drilled through the gas pipe when renovating the babies room. Thankfully we discovered it before she was born and sleeping in there.
Anyway, baby was totally fine and no one was concerned that she would be damaged. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Glad all was ok in the end. How old is your DD now? Glad there was nothing wrong. Scary when your pregnant and things like that happen x
