Riding a bike at 36 weeks

I'm (hopefully) going to centre parcs in a few weeks when il be 36 weeks pregnant. Has anyone ridden a bike whilst heavily pregnant? Am I being naive to think that il be fine? I'm 32 weeks now and I'm not huge, I feel I could ride one comfortably now but of course I expect to be considerably larger in a few weeks 😁

I currently live in The Netherlands which is bike central and everyone cycles through pregnancy. However people here don't cycle once they get to 36 weeks ......
I think as with anything it depends on how you feel and what your pelvic floor is like. But even round Center Parcs you could fall off etc. In my opinion not a good idea......

I’m only 27 weeks but my centre of gravity is off and I’d be a lot wobblier than normal on a bike. I think it’s different if you’ve cycled throughout and been able to adjust to the changes as they happen but I think you’ll be pretty wobbly and also pretty sore after.

I continued spinning until about 33 or 34 weeks with my first pregnancy, but then it became too uncomfortable. There is no way I would get on a moving bicycle while heavily pregnant. The risk from falling off is too great.

If you’d been riding for the whole pregnancy you might get away with it but if you haven’t? I wouldn’t risk it.

If you haven't been cycling throughout, I'd give it a miss. I kept using the stationary bike at the gym until I delivered, but I wouldn't have been comfortable on a normal bike unless I'd been riding throughout, and I wouldn't want to take a hard fall at that stage.

Thanks all for the feedback! We've called center parcs and they've said I can either hire a tricycle, which may be better for balance. Or I can hire a mobility scooter lol. The scooter is sounding like the better option to be honest 😂

I was going to suggest a Centerparcs tricycle. They’re not as awkward as they sound!

I think it might depend on how much you normally cycle - I go cycling several times a week and cycled during pregnancy up until 39 weeks (I had a small bump though which probably helped. My balance didn't feel any different. But - if you're not a regular cyclist the trike or scooter sound a better option!

I cycled all thru 4x 38+ week pregnancies without issues.
Would be better if you had never stopped, tbf

I'm not a regular cyclist, I only ever cycle at center parcs 😁. Maybe it's best I avoid it and get a mobility scooter
