Numbness in back, is it normal?

I keep getting a small patch on my back which feels like it has gone to sleep, a bit like when you lie on your hand in bed and then wake up and can't feel it. Is it something to worry about or probably i was guessing maybe just the baby laying on a nerve??

Anyone? I am the only one here who has had it?

I had this only in front -- yes, it was the baby lying on a nerve.
Very annoying but unimportant, goes away (slowly) after birth.

Thankyou so much for the reply!!

I have it right now and it is the strangest feeling not any pain just weird. It comes on and off all day long. I thought as much about the nerve but just wanted a second opinion, thankyou again!

Mine itched in the oddest way eventually. And after the birth it stopped that but there was still a numb spot I could find for several months (have just rubbed my tummy and yup, it's gone for sure -- DD is 8 months, though).

I had that but at he front. My tummy was so numb that many times I didn't realise I was reclining too much towards the edge of the desk/tables until DS started kicking. It disapeared after birth.

I have a patch at the top of my tummy, which is sometimes numb, or tingly, or has stabbing pains, which sent me into hospital last week - all nerve related I think.

Takes months for it to come back to life after the birth, but thankfully the pain goes immediately.

Thanks ladies, like i say there is no pain but reassuring to know you have all experienced something similar!
It doesn't last long and i am trying to connect it to how i have been sitting /standing but haven't managed it yet
