This feels like such a stupid question.
I am 6weeks 2days and this is the first day I feel truly sick (very almost was while brushing my teeth 🤢).

I love breakfast and haven't skipped breakfast since I was ill with an ed years ago. But I can't think of anything to eat, part of my thinks if I can eat something the sick feeling may subside but nothing sounds good and anything sweet (ie cereal/ baked goods is turning my stomach). I've only been sick a handful of times in my life so I'm at a loss, which feels silly.

When you ladies felt like this what did you eat? And was there anything in particular that helped? ☹️ xx

Dry toast done the job for me!
Eat little and often

I ate a lot of watery fruit like grapes, watermelon etc for weeks... also sparkling water as I couldn't keep tap water down Hmm

All my usual breakfast food went out the window - nothing with dairy or white carbs, so no milky tea, cereal, toast etc... the main thing is keeping hydrated and eat whatever you can, whenever you can. Good luck!

Toast.

Plain biscuits/crackers. Keep them by the bed and eat before you get up.

At its worst I could only manage those little salty cheesy biscuits and oatcake type things. It’s years later and I still can’t look at either.

No one thing worked for me. Some days I could tolerate some Greek yogurt, some days I’d get it near my lips and instantly push it away. Some days I had a couple of ritz biscuits before getting out of bed, then I could eat relatively normally. Some days I had malt loaf. Some days I had shortbread but not a very sweet one. Some days I didn’t eat breakfast. I ate halloumi for breakfast a few times. Whatever you fancy, eat it. It doesn’t matter if it’s the wrong time of day.

I also bought Marmite breakfast biscuits to eat before I got up, which occasionally staved off the sickness a bit: www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/lunchbox-snacking/marmite-yeast-extract-biscuits-120g

The only thing I could keep down was plain dry cream crackers... for every meal... for pretty much for the first 12 weeks...

Toast with butter and orange juice

Thanks so much for the replies ladies!

I ended up going for some plain jacobs crackers and that seems to have settled things a bit x

Since we haven't told anyone yet it's just hard not to be able to ask friends and family for suggestions x

Crackers for me. Ginger biscuits sometimes.

Ednadidit · 01/09/2021 10:25

Watery fruit for me. Sometimes mashed potato!

ElmtreeMama · 01/09/2021 12:00

Sparkling water and crisps was my breakfast of choice for first 16 weeks!

Pix89 · 02/09/2021 09:08

Watermelon was a go to for me in the early days of pregnancy. Like others have said other watery fruits also do a good job :)

Peachee · 04/09/2021 14:20

I just ate whatever I fancied because the choose was so limited.. morning sickness is vile.. I think I had digestive biscuits every morning for a good few months before things easier.. just be gentle on yourself and don’t put yourself under any pressure..

Peachee · 04/09/2021 14:21

Sorry about the grammar lol..
