How to naturally prepare body for labour

Hello! I'm 36+3 but have been admitted 4 times for reduced movements.

My last time was 36 weeks and the consultant wanted to induce me there and then. I did decline purely because baby was okay on CTG, growth scan was okay, it's just that I couldn't feel her.

Luckily she was been super wiggly since then, but I'm worried about it happening again and being told I will be induced. Baby is 3/5 engaged (I'm not really sure what that means) I'm walking daily, bouncing on my ball and eating dates and been having stronger Braxton Hicks which feel more like mild period pains, especially in the evening. I don't necessarily want to induce labour, especially not at this gestation, but if I go back again I'd like my body to be a bit more prepared for the induction.

Any tips please? 😀

*Desperately hoping she keeps wiggling away until coming spontaneously on her own!!!

You could try all the old wives tales but I think the only one which might have some truth in it is having sex and that a lot to do with the oxytocin that's released.

Ultimately baby will come when they are ready, but you could try doing all your favourite things to give you the good feelings.

Watch your favourite films, TV, read feel good books, take walks, get your partner to massage you, take baths, look at old photo albums, laugh, eat your fav foods

These things will help make you feel happy and safe which could help

Thanks @PlanetTeaTime I'm feeling pretty relaxed which is good, so will just get on with doing the things that give me joy 😄

Get plenty of rest, make sure your hospital bag is packed and practice breathing exercises and maybe try some pregnancy yoga?

Definitely bouncing on the birthing ball especially with the figure of eight hip movements but in all honesty I would get plenty of rest and relaxation before baby arrives 😊
Try and keep well hydrated and eat regularly too, with my last baby I missed my evening meal, went into labour in the night and couldn't eat breakfast then once I got to the hospital I wasn't allowed to eat until after baby was born the following night so was so hungry which didn't help me during labour at all.

Also I totally forgot to say

One thing that really helped me give birth in good time, look up Spinning Babies, doing some of the moves can help make sure baby is in the best position for birth.

When you go for walks try to go in the country across fields and things, the uneven ground will help move baby into a good position

Good luck

Just reading all of these after a nap, and very relaxing evening 😄 thanks for all your advice!

We have a working cocker and only do cross country walks, so that's great to know, thank you!
