NHS switching trusts whilst pregnant

Looking to TTC and if we fall lucky quickly, I will likely be moving trusts whilst pregnant.
I understand this will mean I have to claim MA not SMP but financially that works out the same it seems.
What happens about annual leave though? Do I still accrue a year's worth of annual leave if I take the full year of maternity leave the same as I would do if I didn't move trust? I just am relying on that to extend my maternity leave for a month paid at the end really.
Thanks

I would get pregnant first before worrying about this stuff

Do you mean changing jobs to a different trust? My understanding is that continuous NHS service is what matters for a lot of benefits including maternity pay and annual leave entitlement so changing trusts might not mean you lose that. Maybe get some advice e.g. from a union or HR. A lot of maternity policies are available online too.

I changed trusts while pregnant, it doesn't affect your maternity leave or your annual leave -as long as you don't have a gap between jobs.

Also assuming you mean changing jobs. Continuous NHS service is what's important so as long as you have 1+ years you'll get NHS maternity pay. Assuming you qualify for that, I don't think SMP v MA matters as the increased SMP in the early weeks won't matter as it will be covered by the NHS pay.

For the annual leave, you would still be entitled to the same amount of leave you normally would. The only thing that might affect you is if you leave part way through a year. Each trust will treat you separately but that's more likely to be an issue with your leave before you go off rather than after.

Agree with PP though. Worry about this if it actually happens particularly if you've got more than a year's service.
