Success stories with just a sac seen at early scan?

Hoping to get some advice - or hopeful stories/experiences.

I've got a history of recurrent miscarriage, and got a BFP for the fourth time this year, two weeks ago. I've had cramping so was sent to EPU for suspected ectopic. Blood levels came back at just over 1500, so I was sent for a scan today (and a different hospital to my local one due to urgency) Gestational sac was seen in my uterus, and sonographer said "looks like something is forming" on the inside but it's too early to see. (My discharge notes say no fetal matter seen). A nurse followed up after saying they won't scan or follow up, and to "just relax" even though they believe I am only four weeks pregnant - which would mean I got my BFP when I ovulated? I'm certain I know when I ovulated and should be five weeks today.

I called up my local EPU to discuss, and they've booked me in for a scan in almost two weeks - but the person who booked me in kept talking about it possibly just being a failed pregnancy because they didn't see anything in the sac and they should've with my levels being at 1500. She didn't sound hopeful at all and so naturally now I feel worse.

I'm really upset and anxious, and have zero patience. I know I've got no choice but to wait it out, but I'm hoping someone may have a similar story with a hopefully positive outcome? I've tried Dr Google and there is so much conflicting advice - I don't know whether to prepare myself for the worst or whether to stay optimistic. Thanks for reading if you've made it this far!!

@feelslikeadream

Just thought I'd update the thread for anyone that may find it! I've had my scan and there was a little bean with a heartbeat, all looks well 😁
Great news! 😊

Thankyou both! 🥰

How many weeks are you @feelslikeadream ?
I've got a scan booked a week on Friday as it was too early to see much of anything last time I went.

feelslikeadream · 06/09/2021 16:14

@PeanuttyButter I'm around 6+5 today (I think, if I've got my ov date right) they estimated me at around 6 weeks which is okay as I think dates can be a few days out at this stage because they're so small. Fingers crossed you have the same thing next week!

@feelslikeadream yay! Huge congratulations, that is great news Smile. My dates were out by 3 or 4 days at my rescan I think but had all caught up by 12 week one.

As horrible as that wait between early scans was my repeat early scan is still my favourite one of whole pregnancy. I was so prepared for it to be bad news that the sheer joy of seeing my little bean with its heartbeat was incredible.

Good luck with the rest of the pregancy x

Congratulations! The same thing happened to me and the wait to find out if things were progressing was so hard. But all went well and I had a healthy pregnancy and baby (baby is currently screaming next to me right now!)

feelslikeadream · 06/09/2021 18:21

@LunaDreams thankyou! I think they'll catch up too - and I'm with you! I burst out crying when I saw the heartbeat, I was so so prepared for bad news. I also explained what the person on the phone had said about failed pregnancy and the sonographer was really shocked, so I'm glad in both ways I guess I got the reassurance I needed! They even printed a little scan pic for me too!

Thankyou @rosewater20 and congratulations x
