DP and I about to set off on last romantic hurrah before PFB joins us... includes lovely dinner at lovely restaurant. I know I can't have liver but what about other offal? Are kidneys ok?

yes other offal is fine, tis just the high levels of vit A in liver that make it a no-no

NorthernLurker · 01/12/2007 10:36

I think kidneys are ok but why would you want to? I don't like offal at the best of times and certainly couldn't have stomached it when pregnant - you're a brave woman!

Well, I had haggis at dinner the other night and I am fine so I hope it is ok to eat!

walkingwomb · 01/12/2007 22:45

haggis is offal good (boom boom)

PrettyCandles · 01/12/2007 22:47

You can have liver! Just not often - once in a pregnancy would be absolutely fine.

Well, couldn't find anything saying I shouldn't so went ahead and it was luverly. Missed all your messages as we had to leave (was desperate last ditch quest for guidance) but thank you for helpful responses. Understand the astonishment of those who don't get offal - I am equally perplexed at why anyone would deprive themselves of such deliciousness. And now am just thinking about haggis... mmmm... not long until Burns Night but not sure I can wait that long...
