Anyone pregnant, double jabbed, got Covid?

Just wondering. Obviously the rules are more relaxed but I'm still wearing masks in shops, not out and about.

I'm double jabbed, had covid last Christmas, and I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I was just wondering if any of you lovely ladies have had Covid when pregnant and what were the symptoms? I'm so nervous about catching it but I'm really hopeful all the above will help counteract any potential ill effects.

Thank you.

I can't contribute as haven't had Covid, but I am also worried about this. I know so many people who are double jabbed and have caught Covid, some with breathing difficulties. I'm a teacher, and where I live, we are being forced into work. The government says that employers do not need to implement any extra safety measures for us if we are double jabbed, but my second vaccine was in March, so almost six months ago now. I've read that the vaccines' effectiveness wanes after three months, but there is currently no plans to give boosters in the country where I live. I

am so worried! I work in a secondary school, so students will be unvaccinated and probably unmasked. I'm due at the end of January, so my vaccine will surely have worn off by then.

I've tried to look up data on vaccinated pregnant women, i.e. is there still a danger of stillbirth etc., but haven't found much, though I did read one article that said that even a mild case of Covid (such as that, I guess, you might get when double jabbed) can increase the risk of premature birth and stillbirth.

Dontwantsummertoend · 22/08/2021 13:39

I don't mean that I think I shouldn't work, but I am so stressed and worried about spending all day in unventilated rooms with 30+ unmasked and unvaccinated sixteen to eighteen-year-olds every hour for seven hours a day. I just want students to have to wear masks, and for my employer to acknowledge that there is a risk to pregnant women, even when they are vaccinated, i.e. so that I could be, for example, moved to bigger classrooms with better ventilation, or students would be told they need to keep their distance from me. Currently, there are no restrictions whatsoever.

No input but I'm all also very worried about this.

I'm 28 weeks and have two secondary aged children who will be back to normal in school soon. Dp will also be back in the office soon.

They don't seem to report on pregnant women who are ill and vaccinated, only the ones not to boost the no of pregnant women getting the jab.

chippedchocolate · 22/08/2021 16:00

Thank you so much for responding - it does seem odd that there's no data to be found on this, particularly considering that we've all been 'reassured' that double jabbing was the way forward for us pregnant folk.

@Dontwantsummertoend - I'm not surprised that you are concerned. Currently it seems rife in the teenage population and whilst they don't seem to be suffering as much as many adults, they still seem capable of being super spreaders which is worrying.

Yes - my DP is in the office, and I've got one going up into secondary next month. I'm wearing a mask when I go shopping / before I sit down if we eat out. It is worrying - I had a MC last October so we have taken each day at a time with this one, I would just like to be reassured that even if Covid did come around again into our household (I've had it as has eldest, DP / youngest haven't as far as we know....) it would be manageable....

It is a worry. There is a lack of data on the impact of COVID for double vaccinated women because pregnant women were not included in clinical trials. We were also advised not to get the jab until recently, so even real world data is lacking -- there hasn't been time to collect and analyse data because most pregnant women have not been vaccinated for very long.

chippedchocolate · 22/08/2021 16:15

So I've just found this article written end July which says that no double jabbed pregnant women have been admitted to intensive care since mid-May...

Place marking as interested too

Ednadidit · 22/08/2021 22:21

I’m 31 weeks, been so careful throughout, and tested positive on a lateral flow this evening 😭 going for my PCR first thing in the morning. I’m so upset. Double jabbed 22 days ago.

thingymaboob · 22/08/2021 22:25

@Ednadidit how do you feel? Do you have any symptoms? 22 days ago means you've almost certainly got some kick ass antibodies

I'm sorry to hear this - how are you feeling? What prompted you to take the LFT? Thanks

Soexciting · 23/08/2021 07:36

@Ednadidit just popping on to say I hope you and your baby are ok x

Ednadidit · 23/08/2021 09:29

Thank you @thingymaboob, @MahMahMahMahCorona and @Soexciting. I just had a runny nose yesterday so thought I’d better check. I just feel like I’m getting a cold at the moment but I also have HG and my mum’s just gone into hospital so this is just the cherry on top of a really shit cake. I was supposed to be getting whooping cough today too!

Crikey @Ednadidit - it sounds like it's not your week - I'm so sorry about your mum. I've got everything crossed that a runny nose is all you get!

Sorry about the NC fail. I've got one for pregnancy, and the other for my entire life... I forget to switch between the two at the best of times let alone when pregnant.

I had whooping cough vaccine last week and the bruise / lump at the needle site is
monumental! Not something I had to have with either of my DC a decade ago!

Keep us posted @Ednadidit - fingers crossed it passes with very few symptoms ThanksCake

I’m 28 weeks, have covid not jabbed. Feel fucking rotten!

thingymaboob · 23/08/2021 10:02

@Ednadidit hopefully just cold symptoms. I have HG too. Has you mum gone in with covid? Wish everyone a speedy recovery

Ednadidit · 23/08/2021 11:07

@thingymaboob no, not covid, but she’s been having blood transfusions so she’s far from healthy at the moment. I’ve seen my dad to support him in the last 48 hours and I’m so worried that she’ll be sent home and then he’ll test positive. Yes I recognised you from the HG thread - hope things are ok for you as far as that’s concerned at the moment!

@SheABitSpicyToday I’m sorry to hear you have it too. I hope you start to feel better soon. Do you mind me asking about your symptoms? I’m starting to feel like my throat and ears are hurting but colds etc always affect my sinuses so I expected that.

@chippedchocolate ah, now I have the whooping cough bruise to look forward to after this 😂

SheABitSpicyToday · 23/08/2021 11:15

@Ednadidit

Started with a cough, then fever. Now have swollen and sore throat, runny nose, headaches and lost my sense of smell. My eyes hurt and I’m extremely tired. All my muscles and joints are aching. Breathing is more difficult. It sucks!

Ednadidit · 25/08/2021 13:53

@SheABitSpicyToday how are you feeling? Hope your symptoms are improving!

A little update: still feeling as though I have a cold but I’ve also developed a cough in addition to the runny nose. Currently very grateful that this isn’t as bad as the sinusitis I usually get with respiratory illnesses! I also have one very attractive bright red eye and my sense of taste/smell is intermittent. Husband tested negative, so I’m quite jealous of him Envy

I also had a text inviting me to take part in Covid Oximetry at Home which is usually for CEV patients. I bet no-one will be calling me CEV when the government want me back in a classroom for a final month before mat leave 😂

I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and have had positive covid test today i started woth a sore throught yesterday then last night couldnt sleep properly was warm this morning cough and banging head ache also im double jabbed so i am worried about it affecting baby but midwife said isolate and will be fine

mumofmunchkin · 01/01/2022 19:40

Yep, I had covid last week at 30 weeks pregnant, tested positive 3 days after I had my booster. It was like a cold for me, with a nasty cough, and I was really tired.

Elnc · 01/01/2022 19:57

What advise did ur midwife give u as ine isnt replying to me

Clarkey86 · 01/01/2022 20:04

I got it at 37 weeks, double jabbed but pre-booster.

I had one day of aches and pains, and then cold
symptoms for a few days and then fine. Wouldn’t normally have even been off work.

Midwives prescribed blood thinning injections and gave me an oximetre. I got sent for a growth scan to check placenta and waters were okay. I had phone calls asking about my stats and checking in from consultants. It was great care but I didn’t really need it as I was very lucky and pretty much perfectly fine.

lms2017 · 01/01/2022 20:11

Hi , I'm 10 weeks pregnant tomorrow with my 2nd , and have covid currently . The doctor rang me as I have a heart condition also and while talking about this she advised not to worry about not having the booster she has family who are worse off now with covid than pre jabs etc , but advised being double jabbed is the best protection . It's the last trimester she said has problems if not vaccinated.

Her husband is an obstetrician and she contacted him to ask for advice , he said their is no guidance for anyone in my position that's different from everyone else.
Explained if I got breathless then call her back.

I have been quite rotten with colds since 3 weeks pregnant had one non stop and heavy horrible ones I think because my immune system was down already I have picked it up I only went Asda in the time frame your supposed to pick it up! X

Elnc · 01/01/2022 20:34
