Threadworm whilst pregnant first trimester

So I've caught threadworm off a friend's daughter whilst in my first trimester! I'm 9 weeks 4 days and it's awful!! Doctor won't prescribe anything because of first trimester.. and I don't want to take anything that would be unsafe but this has to be one of the most awful things I've had to deal with out of any of my pregnancies!! Has anyone been through this and know any home remedies that work!? I've been using itching creams but they only work for so long before they stop working!! 😩😩😩

I've not experienced it but that sounds extremely uncomfortable Thanks

I've found this article on threadworms in the first trimester which might help.

Bella - I’m in the same boat and would love to hear how you managed to treat it while pregnant (hope baby is keeping well!)

@Dollygolly vaseline around butthole and around vaginal opening stops itching and also stops them travelling about. Wear cotton pants to bed. Wash hands, pants and bedding constantly. No scratching!

I had this! My daughter is 15 now, but when I visited my GP to say I was pregnant, I also declared I has threadworm - I'm a primary school teacher, so no shocks there.
He said no medication, but to sleep each night with fresh knickers on, fresh sheet on the bed each day, for a week. The life cycle of the worms is a week so effectively they pass through you and are gone. Mine did, I was fine. No itching at all, lots of hand-washing.
Good luck! (Dd is 15 now!)

As much fresh pineapple/juice as you can stomach for as long as you can.

Thanks all. Im really grateful. I’m on day 25 of following every single home remedy in the book and I still see the odd one. It’s by no means an infestation but it’s enough to turn your stomach and really affect your mental health. If they are still around in two weeks time I’ll give real consideration to taking the meds. I’ll be 18 weeks. If anyone thinks this is a bad idea please do say. It’s horrific to imagine putting up with this for the next 20 plus weeks.
