Anxious about Caesarian recovery

I’m 35 weeks pregnant and baby currently breech - still time for them to turn maybe?!
Anyway... I’m feeling anxious about the recovery afterwards if I end up having a Caesarian. I have another child (born vaginally) and don’t want to be incapacitated for long. I’m also worried about infection, being in pain and taking a while to feel normal again.
I want to try and be less anxious about the whole thing!

I was incapacitated for a shorter amount of time and in less pain after my EMCS than I was after my VBAC. It was much easier to recover from.

Have you looked at the Spinning Babies website for tips on how to encourage your baby to turn?

3 c-secs here. I recovered far more quickly that a couple of my friends who, even now years later, still suffer complications from a vaginal birth.

You will.have pain meds for a c-sec, less chance of issues/infections than a vag birth. The body is amazing and typically you'll be able to heal.relatively fast, a few weeks, and back to full mobility within 6. Even with a c-sec, I could still look after two toddlers, a baby, etc, you just go super slowly the first few days, roll sideways out of bed rather than get straight up lol to prevent the wound being stretched too much. Honestly, you'll be totally fine x

I’ve had an emcs after a very long labour and a VBAC. I did find the VBAC easier to recover from but the emcs was ok. I was in the shower within 6 hours, home the day after and driving after two weeks. Do go easy on lifting and plan how you are going to get up from the bed and chairs.
I actually did all nappy changes on the floor and was fine, it was chairs I got stuck in and had to be rescued.
The scar healed well, no infection but it does take time. I was still getting twinges at 7 months and at year bits were still numb
Take the painkiller exactly on schedule

Still plenty of time to turn yet! Look at spinning babies as pp suggested.
My c section recovery was so much better than my vaginal birth. They discharge you the next day at the moment so I must admit I was very sore for 48 hours but kept on top of the painkillers and it soon improved. Husband went back to work after a week and I managed fine with baby and toddler. Driving by 4 weeks. Just get lots of good pillows and tuck your duvet in at the bottom so you can pull on that to sit up so you don’t have to use your abs. Get some paramol from the pharmacy for the first few days. And eat lots of prunes!

I had my first c section five weeks ago after two previous vaginal births and it hasn't actually been too bad.
It was scary moving for the first time but I just went very slow for the first few days/weeks. Regular painkillers is crucial and the midwife said the best thing to do was to get up and move as soon as possible and once home to move a little each hour.
I found it was uncomfortable to lie down for the first two weeks and I couldn't get up by myself so had to sleep sat up but that only last about two weeks.
Not being able to drive for six weeks actually hasn't bothered me as much as I thought it would although now coming in to week six post section I'm itching to drive myself somewhere.
You will be absolutely fine and the actual operation is over before you know it.
