Where's my second trimester energy...??

I'm late 30s and nearly 23 weeks pregnant with DC3.

I had DCs1 and 2 in my early 30s.

I'm struggling so much with this one: low Papp A and on 150mg aspirin so not sure if that has anything to do with it but I have had none of the much lauded second trimester energy.

I feel heavy and bloated, quite nauseous, and tired. My digestion is all over the place, I can't stomach much food and just generally a bit fed up.

Anyone else? Hope I'm not alone with this and someone can relate Confused

I never really got the fabled second trimester energy unfortunately - just felt less shit than the first trimester 😑 Really disappointing as everyone talks like you’ll be cleaning your whole house and hiking up mountains on a regular basis with energy to spare.

Also talked with several other women in real life who also felt this way! So you are definitely not alone. Potentially worth having your iron checked though - one person I spoke to did say that her energy improved after her doctor prescribed iron supplements.

@TTCAbroad I'll ask them to check my iron levels. I'm fine after I rest for a couple of hours but with two primary school age children to entertain, rest is hard to come by during the week when DH is at work!

I'm the same, 22 weeks and feeling absolutely knackered all the time. I often need a nap for a couple of hours after work. My husband is a teacher and going back to school on Monday which I'm really dreading as I'm going to have to summon the energy to walk the dog in the afternoons now.

I'm glad it's not just me!

@OM82 put your feet up! That has helped me feel slightly less grim. It's hard though as I'm usually up and about doing stuff!

I could have written this @housewifeathome 23 weeks today, 36 and this is DC3 too, I’m shattered, also low Papp A and on 150mg of aspirin. I’m struggling, I definitely didn’t feel like this in my previous two pregnancies- I still feel sick most of the time too. Just wanted to say you definitely aren’t alone x

@Mayneedanextraroom
I don't remember feeling like this so early with first two pregnancies either. I heard from others that the third pregnancy is generally tough but I didn't really take that on board. The nausea is horrible.. I think it's reflux so I've been taking Gaviscon and OmeprazoleConfused

DC2 for me aged 37. Dc1, aged 34, was the easiest pregnancy ever. Didn’t appreciate it enough! This one has been a real slog. Nausea, sciatica, fainting…I just don’t think my body is enjoying this pregnancy, if that makes sense.

housewifeathome · 14/08/2021 21:54

@Parsley1789 Yes, that makes sense. I'm sure my midwife said some pregnancies are easy and some are not. I got a bit tearful the other day because I'm a few weeks from third trimester and the second trimester hasn't been all that it's cracked up to be. And third trimester is supposed to be worse.
