Very early days of pregnancy following a missed miscarriage in May (my third)
I have been put straight onto clexane injections and aspirin as I was positive for lupus anticoagulant.
Also prescribed progesterone pessaries.
Had very slight bleeding on Wednesday night, Called GP on Thursday, explained the situation and asked if the bleeding could be the pessaries perhaps irritating my cervix. I also mentioned that the bleeding started not long after taking my first clexane injection and that although it said bleeding was a side effect of these, I assumed that meant at the injection site. She agreed with this and said
no to the pessaries being the cause and to just keep an eye on the bleeding.

She then said she had a letter from my consultant at the hospital and said "there's some information here, Blah, blah, blah (actually said blah, blah, blah) then proceeded to read me the last paragraph of the letter about getting my TSH levels rechecked.

Fine.

Gets the letter in the post today, and the third paragraph clearly stated that if I have any bleeding I am to stop the clexane and aspirin immediately.

I am livid.
I realise that a GP isn't a specialist in gynae/obstetrics, But she can bloody read!
Also, Should she not have advised getting off the blood thinners when I told her I was bleeding anyway? (Even without having that information on a screen in front of her)

I'm going to give myself time to calm down before I contact the medical practice.

Would you complain about this?
I don't know if I'm justified in being furious or if my absolute fear of losing another baby is clouding my judgement.

Hi I'm not sure I can comment on whether to complain but I had the same protocol for pregnancy after 7 miscarriages. I was told to stop the aspirin but continue to injections until 12 weeks. I found the aspirin really affected me. Once I stopped taking I stopped spotting although on my second successful I did spot through the first trimester despite not taking aspirin at all. Taking a blood thinner in the first trimester is really good for helping for the placenta to develop. I also took them again in the third trimester as my placenta failed in both my successful pregnancy. You can also take the progesterone anally if you think they are affecting you. I didn't have any issues with them. Are you on any steroids for the recurrent miscarriages?

I know that all of this is stressful but complaining will only increase stress and not yield any responses.

I'm hopeful that the medication helps. It did for me!
