Northern Ireland but any pointers on how it works with the NHS in other UK regions welcome
I now know I am pregnant, and need to work out what care to have from here forward. I will be notifying my GP early next week as they refer you. I'm not sure yet whether it's within our means to go the full private midwife route. My hope is I can be seen by community midwives for general ante natal care and I have my 12 week dating scan booked at a private centre.
I'm thinking I will also get my anomaly scan at 20 weeks done privately
I know the place forward scans and reports to your health care provider, and you also get a copy yourself. I assume I just say to the midwives not to book me in for the scans as I have my own arrangements in place? Maybe place a copy of the notes in my pregnancy book incase they get confused?
Has anybody had a problem getting the trust to accept the private scans in place of their own?
If community midwives aren't an option or if I don't get on with them I may be transferring my care to a private provider in which case I would imagine notes would be transferred from the trust to them and I would also allow them access to my copy is this right?
