I have noticed some slight bright red blood when going to the loo and on tissue paper - almost 30 weeks - not overly concerned - should I be? Have slight aching in lower back and groin area but then thats nothing new in pregnancy - any advice??

I would get it checked, especially with the aching. Any bleeding in pg should be checked out, but it may be nothing to worry about.

Hope all is well x

"Bright red blood" is one to call your mw about I think. Most of the time they don't find any reason for pg bleeding, but it could also be something you don't want (like premature labour).

Defn worth letting your mw know. I bled throughout both pregnancies & have two (rather too) healthy kids - so may well be absolutely nothing to be worried about - but i was always told to let them know. I think bleeding is often caused by cervix relaxing/being pumped full of blood.

For eg, I was given steroid injection to mature lungs - which was a v.g thing as ds arrived 4 weeks early. (Not that I'm saying that'll happen to you

As fruitful says, bright red blood = fresh bleeding.

Oh, they'll ask if you had a shag last night too - that's the most common cause of bleeding I think.

Hope all goes smoothly from now on in

ditto everyone else
might be nothing , especially if you have had sex in the last few hours . as that can cause a bit of bleeding if oyu have a cervical erosion ( not dangerous)

if you have any placental issue, get checked out asap.

in fact, you should get checked anyway, bright red, fresh bleeding in pregnancy, is not to be ignored, even if you feel fine.

most likely it is nothing, but it is worth getting the reassurance.

Yup, cervical erosion was what I had (always set up an unpleasant image of my insides collapsing like the white cliffs of dover...)
