To buy, or not to buy...

Hey! I am a FTM and trying to be super organised and get a list together of things I will need to buy for when baby is here, so I can start to gradually get things over the next few months.

The 'essential baby' lists online all contradict each other, some saying you need certain items, and others saying you don't. I have also scoured MN for a recent similar post, but can't seem to find one..

So hopefully you lovely ladies will be able to send me your 'essential baby lists' for a FTM. Thanks in advance xx

Or, if there were any items you were told to / advised to buy, but never ended up using?

We found our moses basket indispensable as we could carry our baby around the house without disturbing her if she was sleeping, she then also slept in it at night for 5 months before going into her cot.

Also, we had an over bath baby bath given to us second hand, it was amazing and saved my back and knees when bathing her.

It’s really depends on how you parent and your baby. With DD2 she refused the pram/pushchair until 7 months and was ebf. DD1 ended up been formula feed and I spent hours walking her to sleep.

You definitely need a thermometer. It saved my life post birth.

Not strictly a baby thing, but if you haven't got a pregnancy pillow yet, invest in a BBhugme. my baby is now 5 weeks and I'm still using it every day and night for feeding, wouldn't be without it!!
