Flying whilst pregnant after a bleed?

Hi all,
I’m currently 19 weeks pregnant and last week I had a massive bleed. Doctors couldn’t figure out the source of it and said baby is doing fine so I was discharged after 2 days of monitoring.

I am due to fly long haul on the 17th of this month and I’m in 2 minds as to wether this is a good idea or not and could do with some advice.

I would speak to your midwife/ dr and see what they say. I personally will never go abroad when preg again, end up having my first son at 28+1 while on holiday and spent 8 week in an Italian nicu. Saying that I realise many women travel while preg and have no problems what so Eva so if you do want to travel, I would look at what the healthcare is like and have a idea of where you would need to go if a problem arose and make sure you insurance would cover any costs, for the flight get some ted stockings and drink plenty of water

Whatever you decide (I won't advise on that, best left to the medical professionals), if you do travel make sure you are adequately insured, I've seen so many people who don't bother (consular work) and are really up the creek when things don't go to plan. And then complain that the doctors/nurses/police don't speak English.
Healthcare costs in some countries are phenomenonal, and even extra stays in hotels and changing flights due to covid etc can be pretty expensive.

boymum that must have been scary! Glad it all worked out.
