Best travel system for off road

Looking for real life recommendations on what travel systems can really handle rural living. Several say ‘all terrain’ and then you read the reviews 😬 We have a long gravel driveway so this is hurdle number one 😂 I encounter woodland tracks and fields every day so it needs to handle these too.

Am I looking for the impossible?!

I have a mountain buggy swift in the countryside and it’s a total work horse! I don’t have gravel though… so not tried and tested on that. But been to beaches/ festivals/ woods etc no problem

Look at Mountain Buggy, Out n About or consider a sling.

Have a mountain buggy terrain that's awesome off road. Also have a look at out n about and thule.

I have a Mountain Buggy double and an Out and About single, both excellent off road

We've got the mountain buggy all terrain and although our baby hasn't arrived yet it seems brilliant. We had a funny experience in John Lewis when the lady demoed the 'all terrain' versions and we looked at each other thinking they wouldn't last 5 minutes for our off roading 😂 We got a BeSafe car seat which can attach to the mountain buggy. Lots of other car seat brands do too. Mountain buggy and out n about are also a lot cheaper than the mainstream brands you hear about 👍

You need a three-wheeler. Most of them are forward-facing only and I prefer parent-facing especially when baby is little. Mountain Buggy has a "carrycot plus" which can be converted into a parent-facing seat so I would go for that.

Also YY to a wrap/sling/carrier too. Sometimes they're just more practical. We use an ergobaby for the beach and plenty of other things too.

DP made us get the off road Stokke a few years ago and it was the bain of my life. Huge and a pain in the arse when tyres needed inflating or sorting out. Difficult to get in and out of places. I was embarrassed by it but he loved it, go figure.

We’ve got the micralite fastfold and it’s been brilliant. The hammock seats is design to be used form 6 months plus so we use it with a car seat adapter for now. The adapters hold the car seat so that baby is almost flat.

We go down tracks in the woods, gravel paths on an incline, through mud, over tree roots. Long grass etc is easy.

We also like it because it’s so light but very study, folds up easily and is no effort to steer. Still good to get in and out of the car.

Out n about nipper will handle those things as PP said, but it's not a travel system. Do you mean you want one with a car-seat attachment? Bugaboo cameleon/fox might be an option if you want to put a car seat in, but it isn't brilliant off road (a lot better than a fold up stroller though).
But some babies hate prams and love slings, so a sling for at least 6 months then the out n about nipper/mountain buggy might be a good option.

What a lot of people have said… a true off road buggy needs to have 3 x wheels that are air filled and ideally 14” or above.
I have horses and my 4 wheeler pushchair is useless on actual fields etc. We have an out n about sport for running and horses. It has 16” wheels, suspension and is like a Range Rover!! But it’s useless in shops etc as it’s so long. It also isn’t compatible with car seats etc.
The Thule glide is another fixed wheel option like that.
Then stepping down the range, the Thule urban glide and out n about nipper have 14” wheels, the option to have a fixed (for all terrain) or swivel (for shops) wheel at the front and they have bassinets etc that can come with them. I believe you can also fit a car seat on them with adapters.
If I was only getting one pram, I would go for one of those.

Live on a farm, I have a Out n About Nipper! It's fab, will go anywhere with no effort. I was worried with air filled tyres that they'd almost be flat/burst but only once in 2.5 years use needed to blow one up. I have carrycot attachment for when baby is little so it's facing you. Only thing i bought the maxi cosi adapters so it could fit my car seat as was told these were compatible but they didn't fit the buggy.
