Gotta be water wipes.

billiebeeme · 25/07/2021 19:15

These ones from Aldi love them they are best I've tried.

Agree about Asda little angels my mums bought a pack 🤢 oh my god they smell terrible! I quite liked their newborn nappies though.

I bought facecloths to use as reusable wipes (different colour to our actual facecloths to prevent a mix up).

They are awesome. I soak them in a mix of water, baby soap and baby oil and one will deal with a massive poonami.

Have them in a wee box for out and about.

The ones that billiebeeme posted. Aldi's answer to waterwipes. Nice and not expensive. Also have some reusable wipes that are good. Flannels are as good as anything for hands and faces.

Could I ask those who use reusable wipes how many you would recommend to buy?
If for example washing twice per week, and assuming they get presoaked and washed separately.
I'm probably going to go with disposable wipes and nappies for hospital and early weeks then move to reusable when I'm less clueless (I hope!). Thanks.

Cotton wool and water
Cheeky wipes and water
Water wipes if you want disposable wipes

I bought a packet of cheeky wipes that was 25 or 30 I think. I got white ones so I could wash them on a higher temp. I don’t wash them separately if I’m honest I just throw them in the white wash, so 2-3 times per week.

I suppose it depends how often you’ll be changing nappies which you can’t know in advance! Maybe start with around 25 and you can fall back to disposables if you run out, and buy more cheeky wipes if you find you consistently need more.

Water Wipes. They are quite wet, so we used to dab DD dry with a muslin, but they're also really handy in general. I got mud off a pair of light blue jeans with them and they didn't leave a greasy mark like many wet wipes would. Love them!

LillyLeaf · 25/07/2021 21:03

Washable cheeky wipes are amazing. I recently went on holidays for just 3 days and didn't have access to a washing machine so took disposable wipes, they are totally rubbish compared to cheeky wipes, I found them very frustrating. My DS is 12 months and the wipes still look like new.

Pampers or Johnson and Johnson's are the best IMO

Huggies are crap and Asda's own stink of old fish.

GalaxyGirl24 · 25/07/2021 22:54

My DD has v sensitive skin as do I, eczema flares with pampers/aldi/huggie etc

Best we've found are water wipes or the Amazon sensitive non fragranced Mama Bear ones x

BugMummy · 25/07/2021 23:03

Cheeky reusable sooooo much better for actually cleaning and good for sensitive bums

gogohm · 25/07/2021 23:07

Use reusable, saves you a fortune and helps the planet

happymummy12345 · 25/07/2021 23:09

When my son was a baby I would only use pampers new baby sensitive. Then pampers sensitive when he got older. I only trusted pampers

happymummy12345 · 25/07/2021 23:11

Now I love Fred and flo by Tesco. Better than pampers I think, and very good value for money.

Hate Huggies and Johnson's new baby and the normal ones (my son was allergic to them anyway)

HermioneKipper · 25/07/2021 23:19

I really like the Aldi biodegradable ones. Otherwise Sainsburys ones

Arecklessmanor · 26/07/2021 09:01

Thank you @ChocBeforeCock I will start off with about 30 and see how long they last.

TheCraicDealer · 26/07/2021 09:19

I just buy whatever biodegradable ones I can get- Boots, Tesco, Aldi all do their own that you can pick up easily in store, but you can order off Amazon too.

I've used cheeky wipes for weaning and would be tempted to try them for nappy changes at home when I have my next.

Amichelle84 · 26/07/2021 09:35

I used to buy big boxes of water wipes for early days but they are quite expensive so just buy anything on offer now. I have found the Tesco ones the best. Trying the Sainsbury's ones now which are very soapy, I don't like them.
