Best nappies?

Hi all! I'm only 26 weeks pregnant but been picking up bits and pieces and storing them so we're prepared. I got a voucher for a free pack of Aldi mamia yesterday so picked some up. Just curious on people's recommendations really! Pampers always seem to be the top brand when I google however are the cheaper brands just as good? Thoughts please 😁 x

IMO newborn nappies are pretty much the same, it's as they get older and go up the sizes you need to find ones that are better suited.

I've used every single supermarket brand out there for all of my 3 kids. I found every child gets along with different brands. Boots worked very well for DS1, but aren't that cheap. Little Angels were terrible for DS2, he got bad rashes from them and only tolerated Pampers. DS3 is fine with Sainsburys and Tesco but I prefer the Pampers brand. I didn't particularly like Aldi or Lidl.

My advice: try them all, see what works best for your baby!

Thanks all for the helpful responses! Will take the advice and just try different ones out once he's here and go from there ☺️ xx

It really depends on your baby. For newborn I love Boots own. For toddlers I loved Pampers. The newborn pampers had a smell I just couldn't stand.

I've found pampers best through the stages but find they have a really weird smell lately... not sure if that's just my sensitive nose or an actual thing.

Also like the Fred and flo ones from Tesco and their wipes.

@ginislife

A friend has started a business called Nipper Nappies. Take a look at those ?

Are these The cloth nappies because I am pregnant and covet them so much! As soon as I’m further along I’m making an order because the designs are 😍

@sociallydistained if you like cloth nappies check if your council gives vouchers toward the cost. Lots of London boroughs give vouchers towards the cost to reduce the use of disposables. I'm guessing other councils around the country do too. It's not means tested, just an incentive. I didn't want cloth nappies but I remember the midwife saying the voucher was for about £70.

We used Aldi size 1 and 2 and then switched to pampers from size 3 with DD.

Nsky · 26/07/2021 02:58

I used cotton wool and warm water instead of wipes as worried about exema skin.
One of mine only used pampers, as other ones leaked, was a long time ago tho.
No Aldi or lidl then here

I used cloth nappies in the day (Bambino Mio) which were really good, and then a Moltex Eco disposable at night. It's always worth considering the environmental impact of our choices.

Aldi 100%!!

Thank you unfortunately in Hampshire there appears to be no incentive… booo. I have reserved from my local nappy library though (not free but a nice service none the less)

Sainsbury’s own brand is great. Asda is also good.

We were given some Pampers nappies but I didn’t like them as much as the supermarket own brands we’d been using, so I definitely think you can save money without losing quality.

Sceptre86 · 26/07/2021 21:04

I found aldi nappies to be great for my dd during the day and used pampers at night. With my ds who was heavier than his sister, Aldi nappies leaked and so I found Asda's little angels nappies better. I still used pampers at night.

Disneyblue · 26/07/2021 21:21

Tesco's or Morrisons. Never liked Aldi nappies. Never fit right and found them leaky.
Pampers occasionally if on offer.

CoffeeAndCaramel · 19/08/2021 05:23

As a previous poster said I think it depends on the size of your baby. Lots of my friends swear by aldi, my baby has leaked through every one! I used them with my eldest and found them to be brilliant! I'm using Asda little angels this time and am really impressed so far x

If you wanna go for a biodegradable option, eco by Naty is great! But make sure you get the right size!
