Hi All,

I am expecting baby number 3 and am due in for c section on Wednesday. Hoping she stays in there until then but that will be the day before my due date.

For the previous 2 nights I have been up with period cramps all night (constant not stopping and starting so def not contractions) and sorry for tmi but having bowel movements during the night too which is v.unusual for me. Then last night I slept through the night mostly and woke up today exhausted and fuzzy with headaches. Have been tired all day with lower backpain and feeling cramps. Again, nothing stopping and starting just dull ache.

I had a natural labour with 1st child and started at 39+5 with period cramps coming and going. Then with 2nd I had scheduled c section before labour for medical reasons at 38+4.

I am just wondering does this sound like impending labour to anyone or just normal for this stage? I guess I'm just conscious to go into hospital immediately with signs of labour to avoid natural delivery. I wouldn't consider going in now as nothing actually happening but wondering is it likely something is going to happen before Wednesday.....nervous!!!

Thanks xx

Could be, but what I will say as I am also expecting my third child (38+4) and my god has it been very confusing!
About 3 times I’ve had signs like loose bowel movements, intended tightenings, back ache. It’s like false stops and starts.
I never had it with my other two but I think it may be pre-labour/prodromal labour?
My first two were pretty text book, and feel silly keep saying to OH this could be it 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’d say just keep and eye maybe third babies are more awkward 😂
I was worried about this one coming before I can get to the hospital but I think it’s probably going to be the opposite- a lengthy birth 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 xx

Thanks for the reply @Mumoftwo2021. Yes I think you may be right here!!!

It all calmed down after I posted this and nothing like it since. I've had a few cramps and niggles but nothing to signal anything so now I'm thinking I'll probably make it until my c section on Wednesday.

Deffo like false stops and starts, but when you're in the thick of it it really does make you think something is happening.

I guess we have to just take it as it comes on this 3rd time around...

@myhappyevernow I know, three times now I’ve actually thought, this is it!
Then it stops, so disheartening.
I’m being induced on Friday so hoping it kicks of naturally before then myself.

One thing I do know is I can’t wait til my feet aren’t balloons and I can touch my toes 😂 xx

Just jumping in for solidarity! Hope your little one is staying put @myhappyevernow. I'm 39+2 and have also got a booked section for medical reasons at 39+6. Similar to you I've been up a few nights with cramps - I slept through last night but woke up to find i've lost my mucus plug today! My first labour started with losing mucus plug and progressed very rapidly (turned up at the hospital at 9cm) so I'm guessing this is not it. I have polyhydramnios so am also nervous to get to the hospital quickly. And like you @Mumoftwo2021 I am soooo ready to be able to see my ankles again Grin

Also in this unstable boat 😂 got two weeks til my c-section and every strong kick low down now I think oh no, please don’t be a contraction 🤦🏼‍♀️ Was originally worried about how scared I’d be the night before the section but now think il just be delighted if he’s still in there 😂
