Am i clutching at straws here?
I have been cramping quite badly this afternoon and the brownish loss i have experienced for a week turned bright red.... its sort of mixed with other gunk and not a lot but red!
i have lain down and rung epu and got appointment for thursday..
I am seven and a bit weeks - been bleeding for one .
have had a scan and there was a baby wit a little heartbeat and a patch on uterus where blood loss was apparently coming from
anyone had such an experience and gone on to a happy pregnancy?
this is so horrible - only m/c in july

paulayates and pleaseno - are you the same person?

I'm glad you're lying down - it'll give you a chance to rest.

I think the worst part is not knowing what's going on within your own body.

I'm so scared of seeing blood that i won't even have red nail varnish on my toes - cos i worry that i'll see red on my feet in the shower and panic that it's blood! (Guess what - first pregnancy - can you tell!?)

I wish someone could tell you that all is ok, but mumsnet can't do that - but we do send you virtual hugs and support during this anxious time.

Keep taking it easy. This could be your body telling you to slow down

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 27/11/2007 21:21

my little hand held machine tells me there is a h/b but i am still very stressed
i am still having funny pains...
scan on thurs...

paulaplumpbottom · 27/11/2007 21:28

What machine is that?

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 27/11/2007 21:33

a little moniter doppler thing that picks up h/b

cali · 27/11/2007 21:35

I know you said you did not want an earlier scan but the stress of not knowing is very very hard.
I do where you are coming from but it might be "better" (iykwim) to have an earlier scan than have to wait until thurs.

Are you using a sonicaid?

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 27/11/2007 21:37

Just to let you know that I bled brown blood and crampy at 6 weeks for 1.5 weeks, then bright red blood at 8.5weeks for a few days.

The result is 10.5months of scrumminess asleep in his cot upstairs.

Hoping it all works out for you xxxxxxxxxxxx

LOVEMYMUM · 27/11/2007 21:42

Thanks for keeping us informed (i guess you are 'pleaseno').

Please don't be offended if i ask you how accurate the handheld machine is.

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 27/11/2007 21:43

how lovely thankyou wilkie!

Cali - not sonicaid but something similar- 'Mas' baby watcher

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 27/11/2007 21:44

whoops re name change!

No idea about accuracy but i used it last time - personally its a god send - literally keeps me sane!

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 27/11/2007 21:45

Paula - wish I had had one of those! Mind you, once he started kicking - boy did he KICK!!!

cali · 27/11/2007 21:57

just that l nearly bought/hired one myself but was scared to as l know it can sometimes be difficult to pick up the FH and that would have made me worse!

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 27/11/2007 23:04

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 28/11/2007 07:02

How are you today?

cali · 28/11/2007 10:10

How are you today? Hope everything is ok,
Computer played up last night and wouldn't let me post or do anything on MN, think DH has done something to limit the time I spend here .
Have thought about doppler and if we do have a 3rd then think I'll probably get one.
Will probably be here quite a bit today as Dd1 ill and we're stuck in the house instead of having a day out in edinburgh, all she wants is cbeebies!

paulaplumpbottom · 28/11/2007 12:40

Hope everything ok today. You feeling ok?

bethoo · 28/11/2007 12:47

just to let you know that i suffered a m/c early last year but shortly after i got pregnant, i bled continuously from 6 weeks to 15 weeks, everytime i went to the loo there was blood and at least once a week there was (tmi) gushes of bright red, once it was everywhere! i had scan after scan and there was a large pool of blood in my uterus like a heamoragh which they could not explain. i now have a 9 month old son who is my life. i also invested in a doppler and it was in my opinion a godsend.
my thoughts are with you.xx

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 28/11/2007 13:13

thanks for that bethoo - that really reassures me..its so difficult as blood is he one bad sign - depressing every loo visit
i am so grateful for the doppler!
having another pyjama day - poor dh - it keeps me sane thinking i am doing all i can for it!

fircone · 28/11/2007 13:25

Totally sympathise with fearing going to the loo. My heart didn't stop banging with both pregnancies I was so afraid of losing them.

I gushed blood at 16 weeks with ds. The hospital held out little hope. He is now 9 years old!

cali · 29/11/2007 11:03

just to let you know that I'm thinking of you , xx

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 29/11/2007 18:24

hello girls been for scan and all fine ! however area of haemorrage had grown and they have no explanation
suffice to say - i asked her what to do if i bleed again i said ' ignore it?' she said 'yes'
odd i know but that is twice i have been told now..
the nhs machine was no way as good as the private one i was shocked at how crap it was - i normally use a diff nhs hosp and their equipment is fab - this was antiquated but still did the trick
feeling much more energised today but still trying to take it slow and easy! wonder when i will dare go on antenatal threads!
thank you all for being there - you were a crutch when i really needed one and only people who have 'been there' in this m/c malarkey know how bleak you can feel x

cali · 29/11/2007 18:40

Pleased that scan went well.
Hopefully you will be able to relax slightly now. although I know that having gone through it all it is a bit difficult to, especially (like me) when you aren't given any explanation why.
hope everything goes well for the rest of your pregnancy,x

LOVEMYMUM · 29/11/2007 22:15

Good news.

So relieved for you.

It's hard to ignore the blood but at least you know LO is ok.

Lots of hugs for the coming months.

nanamummy · 30/11/2007 13:38

I am a mum of a 22 year old, who is 14 weeks pregnant with her 2nd child. she has been bleeding on & off for 3 weeks. Initially bright red & flowing, but now every couple of days, pink or brown. The hospital are being great with her. Said that the baby is strong, developing well, and it appears she has a 'injury' that is causing the bleed & she should just rest to let it heal. It is very worrying & I wondered if anyone had heard of anything similar.
To anyone who is worrying about miscarriage, I had two before I had my daughter & I nearly lost her at 12 weeks. So I know bleeding doesn't always result in a loss.
