Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on here and I am looking for honest opinions from people who've had c-sections.

I am currently pregnant with my 2nd and I would like a CS due to a slightly traumatic birth and post recovery with my first.

The consultant is wanting me to go for a vaginal birth again. So I am looking for honest answers on how your CS went, recovery, any complications etc please? Smile

Everyone is different but for me, my ELCS was a lot better than my vaginal birth in every way. Recovery was smooth and a lot quicker than recovering from severe tearing and a pph, which is what happened the first time. On the other hand, I'm on a Facebook group for c section support and a lot of people find it worse/harder. If it's what you want then I say go for it; I don't think it's right to be pressured into a delivery that you don't want (medical emergencies notwithstanding).

I've had 3 not too bad VB's, full induction was my least favourite. Our twins were breech and transverse so had an ELCS, didn't really want to but it was best.
It was much better than I expected. Surgery was calm and quick, I had heavy blood loss but that was not unexpected with 2 placenta sites. I was on recovery for several hours but up on ward within 12 hours of delivery, I was able to walk but did feel like a lead weight so stayed in bed for the night. The next morning I felt pretty normal no need for painkillers, once catheter out I walked down ward for lunch and a shower. My mobility was pretty good and I got discharged within 36 hours of 1st getting to hospital as my iron levels were just good enough. Was back doing most things once home, no trouble carrying both girls (17lb combined birth weight) and was fine lifting 2 & 4 year olds after a few weeks. I didn't drive for 6 weeks as dh was home. My wound did get an infection which smelt funky and looked angry but was painless, was sorted with stitch removal and antibiotics. Scar is barely visible and only notice it at start of af or after heavy deadlifts.
I'm 35+1 now, the scar is a bit uncomfortable when I get braxton hicks but otherwise been fine. I've been umming and ahing about going elcs or vbac with this one, waiting on my next growth scan before committing to anything.
