Hi,

Mostly looking for reassurance..

Tested positive for covid whilst 27 weeks pregnant. I feel ok cough, sore throat head aches. Will my baby be ok? Do I need to inform midwife? I'm not sure what I'm wanting to get from this post but I know I am extremely anxious about what could happen during pregnancy 😢

Hello, I don't have direct reassurance for you but didn't want to leave without commenting. I really feel for you; I am 23 weeks and had an isolation alert, it was really scary to think I could have it! I've ordered a PCR. However, I know of two people who had covid in 3rd trimester. One in November (at 36 weeks) and one in March (at 30 weeks). Both babies were absolutely fine, seemingly not a single issue. It is scary but try not to worry. I would inform your midwife definitely. Hugs

@Rose2108 thanks for the reply ❤️

Fingers crossed for a negative result❤️, Truth be told I just feel like I have a cold, baby still kicking away. I have had a read and seems mostly any complications have came end of the third trimester which is reassuring for me.

It's so reassuring in a way that you're at a point when you can feel baby move, just helps you doesn't it to know they're safe and sound. I would say try and stay off Google as people only tend to share negative experiences!! People don't go online and say I had covid but the baby was fine! Stay positive x

Hi I am 31 weeks pregnant and just recovered from covid too. I had mild symptoms but called the midwife to check if I needed to do anything. She didn't really seem concerned and just said to monitor babies movements etc and let them know if anything changes.

Did you both go on to have normal deliveries?

I had covid at 17 weeks and was milder than a cold that I'd suffered just a few weeks before. I had a runny nose and sneezing. I was unvaccinated for what it's worth aswell. Now nearly 38 weeks and baby has looked great all throughout. I never informed my midwife until afterwards as didn't even think to (I felt fine so didn't feel the need to). I don't think you need to at your stage and your symptoms are mild but I'd do it if it puts your mind at ease.
