Hello!

Im a bit worried and need some advice...

LMP was 2/5/21 I had an early scan on 22nd June which baby measured at 7weeks 4 days, so perfectly with my dates.

I am under a fertility consultant for PCOS. She scanned me on 2/7, so Friday just gone and baby was only measuring 8 weeks 1 day when following from the last scan I should have been 9 weeks??

I'm a bit worried as baby has only grown 4 days worth over 10 days, has anyone else found this? When I pressed her why baby hasn't grown she was kind and just said "we will know more at the 12 week scan".

Thanks for reading

This isn't unusual - please don't panic. It's why they only take one lot of NHS measurements, at 12 weeks - before that, baby will go through random growth spurts. At around 12 weeks, development has standardised, so that's the best point to take an accurate measurement, and then that is used for the rest of the pregnancy.

I had an EPU scan at 6 and 9 weeks, and a private scan at 10 weeks, and none of them lined up. I mentioned it at my 12 week scan, and the sonographer said that NHS scans tend to be more cautious, whereas private scans tend to be more ambitious, which has proved true for me so far!

But everything was fine at my 12 week scan, and I'm now 16 weeks and it's all good.

Please don't panic too much Flowers

Totally agree with person above. The early scans are far less accurate. In my case they put me 10 days behind what I actually was which was a worry but everything was normal and measuring normal by 12 weeks.

Congrats 🥰🥰❤️❤️
