Hello ladies,

It is my first time on here and I need your help. So normally I have a regular 28 day cycle give or take a few days but I noticed that my period just wasn’t coming so naturally I took a pregnancy test on day 36 (8 days after period was due) which showed an incredibly faint positive (the second line was barely visible on both tests) Waited a little bit and took another one again the same result. But I’ve just taken more since ( day 41) which all show a strong negative? I haven’t had any pregnancy symptoms,I am so confused.

Hoping someone can offer a bit of wisdom xx

Could be a number of things that have resulted in different outcomes, I.e, time of day your taking them, how much you've had to drink.
Id perhaps try contacting your GP as this happened to me (not sure what the procedure is now with COVID regulations and all), but turned out I was pregnant and they confirmed it through a blood test after getting a very faint line in drs office. He's a happy 3 yr old now.
Good luck! 👍

Thank you so much for your response,it means a lot. I’m so confused by it,I’ve taken two more today (one in the morning and one this evening) and they are still all strong negatives. My period was due 14 days ago...surely a test would be able to pick it up by now? I think you’re right though,a visit to the GP is definitely in order. 🤞

Gosh isn’t the body a funny thing!

xx

Sounds like a possible chemical pregnancy

Confused2886 · 03/07/2021 22:53

@sjc100
GP told me a positive is a positive no matter how faint (I'd felt a bit silly going in).
My sister never got a positive and found out at 22weeks via a scan. That was a shock! Grin
You a definitely right, the body is a funny thing!
Good luck again and hope you get a positive outcome!

Sorry but it sounds like a chemical pregnancy, I have had a few of these and this is what happened to me.

I have never heard of a chemical pregnancy before,is that like an early miscarriage? I’m sorry if that wording is triggering upsetting for anyone but I’m not sure how else to phrase it. It’s all so confusing, another strong negative today... I feel like a crazy person taking tests everyday but I’m just buffaloes by it. Thank you all for your responses ladies, you are all so helpful xxx

Chemicals pregnancies are very early losses.

Thank you for the link, that was really informative and helpful. It’s helped me understand this a little better. I’m still a little confused that my period still has not arrived (I’m on day 43). If it is a chemical pregnancy,do periods normally resume the next month or are they likely to be all over the place whilst the hormones are settling down? So sorry for all of the questions, this is my first time experiencing pregnancy related things.

Xxx

I'd get a period within 2 weeks of a negative home test with all my chemicals.

If you miss your next period then ask the GP to do blood tests.

I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this more than once,it’s a whole lot of uncertainty and confusion. I’ll definitely book a gp appointment soon if AF doesn’t arrive xx
