Movement and anterior placenta

I started feeling movement from baby from 16 weeks which I was surprised about it's it my first pregnancy. It started off as little taps and then has been getting stronger and I'm now 22 weeks.
Baby has been really active and I've noticed it moves in the morning and in the evening usually when I'm resting.
I've noticed the last couple of days movement has been extremely quiet. Not as much as before.
Could this just be baby is hiding behind my placenta? I don't know what to expect this stage in my pregnancy, I feel like they only say to worry from 28 weeks when there's a regular pattern. It's hard to tell whether I'm having reduced movement or baby is just hiding! Would love to hear if anyone else has been in this situation with an AP.

I've got an anterior placenta (currently 32+2) and have hardly felt much movement this pregnancy, compared with my others who never seemed to stop moving! The movements are certainly stronger now than earlier on but still not very frequent.
At 22 weeks they can definitely be very irregular but of course if you are worried call your maternity unit.

The standard advice is always call the unit if you think the baby is moving less.

That said, this is my 3rd pregnancy and first with an anterior placenta, and I've found the movements pretty irregular and a lot less than previous pregnancies. I'm now 25 weeks and can feel some strong movements in the evenings when I'm sitting down but during the day when I'm active and distracted I really couldn't tell you any sort of pattern at all.

If you have any doubts and anything feels different then ring your midwife and get checked out. I've got anterior placenta in my current pregnancy and I had it in my last pregnancy. Patterns, the type of movement, and the size of movement have been completely different between the two babies so you really can't judge it someone else's experience!

If in doubt - just do it!

I'm 36 weeks with my first pregnancy and I have an anterior placenta. I didn't feel much before 20 weeks to be honest then got into quite a nice routine with the movements. I went to triage at 24 weeks as i had a quiet day and they listened on the doppler but that was all. My trust only hook you up to the ctg machine after 28 weeks. I've been in 4 times since 28 weeks and have had extra scans etc due to this but baby is fine. I think she just had days where she could easily move position and hide behind the placenta whereas now she's a lot bigger and harder to hide!
Always call your triage unit if you're not happy and they can reassure you x

So is it normal at this stage to have a day of non stop movement, I can see my tummy moving. Then to a day of a couple of kicks here and there?
I'm lying down and I've felt a few faint kicks but nothing like I've experienced on those active days.

It's so hard to say as every baby is different. If you have any doubts or are worried call your midwife or pau. They would much rather you did that and it be nothing.

After I was worrying he started kicking loads. He must of been hiding. I'm going to keep an eye on it though.
