Hello

32 weeks pregnant but baby measuring big on growth scans so more like 35 weeks.

Is it normal to hurt so much?

If anyone has done a huge hike; you'll know what I mean when I say I feel like the day after.

The day after a huge walk or exercise; where your body just aches all over.

I can hardly walk up my stairs as legs hurt so much. I'm shattered and not sleeping well as can't get comfy.

I don't know what to do :(

Is it normal?! Second pregnancy but my son was born at 28 weeks so I never got this far !

Do you have spd (does it hurt in your hips)

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 29/06/2021 14:24

Sounds pretty normal, yeah. Sorry.

squishyegg · 29/06/2021 14:43

It hurts everywhere @Helpimfalling Grin

Hips aren't too bad unless sleeping. I have to turn left to right all through the night as they do get painful but not so much in the day.

I just feel like the day after a really hard workout! I ache all over. I can hardly walk.

Talk to your midwife about it - she might be able to offer advice/exercises/referral to physio. Or if you have any money or private coverage there are some great physio providers for PGP/SPD. You could also look into one of those compression girdle thingys that holds your hips in place. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to give you a better description.

Relaxin just sucks for your joints, sometimes, though. Sad

Yep, I’m 33+4 and I constantly feel like I’ve been hit by a bus! I mentioned it to my midwife today and the response was pretty much “Yep, that’s pregnancy” ☹️

HumphreyCobblers · 29/06/2021 16:35

Oh yes I felt like this in my last pregnancy. So sorry, I used to look on absolute wonder at women who could go on a five mile walk at eight and a half months without turning a hair, I couldn’t walk across the bloody room Sad

@MrsB2019x ahhh I recognise your name from another group! Ectopic? X

@squishyegg That’s the one!

squishyegg · 29/06/2021 19:14

Oh amazing! I can't even remember what my name was on that thread which is annoying but we had an ectopic at similar times I think!! So happy for you xx

@squishyegg
I feel your pain (literally).
It is normal in the sense that late pregnancy hormones and weight gain do that 😐
Because of covid and all i couldn't attend physio but i have heard it helps.
For me a week after birth and all the aches were gone!
Hang in there

With big babies yes, very normal. It's rubbish but not forever.

I have had some whoppers and this one is on the 97th centile for growth too. My twins were the worst pregnancy at 17lb combined birth weight and they only let me go to 38wk. This one I was still powerlifting until 31wk despite spd but then it really hit me with constant hip pain, extreme fatigue, poor quality sleep and feeling buggered after a little exercise (I have a nap after walking the dog lol). She's got comfy really low in my pelvis and it feels like she's trying to claw her way out at times, I'm 33wk now. My consultants have said it's likely they'll bring her early due to size and the fact I had an elcs with breech twins last time.

I’m ‘overdue’ at almost 42 weeks with a 97th percentile baby and I’m not that bad, def speak to your midwife as there’s usually a root cause x
