A month late?

Hi everyone just need some advice really.

I'm a month late for my period. I always have regular periods, never late. I took a pregnancy test a week after my missed period and it was negative. I left it till 20 days and it was negative. Did one again the next day and it was negative.

Is it possible that I could just not have enough hcg right now? Or am I being silly and of course you would have enough by now?

I've had back pain (which I put down to my new desk at work which gives me shocking posture) and headaches but not much else really.

The delayed period is worrying me a bit. My partner have sex without protection, he just pulls out! So I know it's possible.

Any opinions would be great. I will get to the doctors ASAP. x

Hey lovely. If you are about a month late for your period, then if you are pregnant you would be roughly 8 weeks and would definitely be showing up on pregnancy tests by now. The HcG pregnancy hormone is at its peak around 9-10 weeks, so it would be showing.

I would definitely try a Clearblue early pregnancy test just to be sure, but if that comes back negative then it will be very unlikely that you are pregnant - clearblue are one of the most sensitive and reliable at home tests.

But, regardless, I would definitely book an appointment with your GP. They will also be able to do a pregnancy test for you, and if it is negative also look into other reasons as to why you are so late. The GP is your best bet.

It is possible when you've had unprotected sex and some people never get a positive test, however it seems unlikely if it's been a month and he pulled out. Are your periods normally quite regular?

Has anything else changed this month, been under any stress? On any medication? Any life changes such as moving house etc or any illnesses?

There could be any number of reasons why your period has been delayed/missed but if you're worried definitely speak to your GP

A lot of women are reporting period issues after being vaccinated? Could it be that?

Yeah maybe it's too far along now. I'll do one more test. Doubt i am pregnant though then.

It really could be either way.
I took one of those super-sensitive tests and the line was almost invisible when I was a week late. So it’s possible that if you’re not producing a lot of hcg for whatever reason, it’s still too early. Possible, but unlikely.

Go see a doctor just in case. My periods got screwy a few years ago and then went back to normal. Sometimes it just happens.
