I'm currently just over 8 weeks pregnant and I'm so nauseous. Literally every smell makes me feel sick. I'm also so tired and have no energy. I have to go work everyday and they don't know I'm pregnant yet!

Any tips to help with this would be great!

Xx

Rest when you can and eat little and often I found fizzy water helped settle my stomach and ginger tea.

The only thing you can do is rest by taking time off or telling them (work) so you can have your duties amended. If you're nauseous, there are drugs you can take in pregnancy to help.

I have severe sickness and exhaustion (HG) and have been signed off and am in bed pretty much all day.

Yeah I find myself really hungry but unable to eat! It's so frustrating. I'll definitely get some ginger tea in thank you x

Ah Ive just been offered a promotion so I am really cautious of telling work until I have to! Can I get the sickness medication from the gp or is it over the counter? Thank you for your advice x

Lunch time naps! And biscuits by the bed to eat as soon as you wake up. Also ignore your DH's judgey face when you NEED to eat McDonald's chips for the 3rd time in a week Grin

The medication is from GP. You are protected in law as a pregnant woman. Nothing can happen to your job or role if you tell them you're pregnant. If it does, they're breaking the law. They will know this. They cannot retract a promotion because you say you're pregnant. That's illegal. If you feel unwell, you should be honest. Law is on your side

I'm in a very similar situation OP, I'm 7 weeks and nauseated and exhausted all the time. I called in sick two days last week with wishy-washy reasons but am going to have to bite the bullet and tell them on Monday. I'm a teacher and there's no way I can do my job properly at the moment.

I just had to tell work I'm afraid. I'm 9 weeks, been on anti sickness meds for the last 10 days and still sick a good 10 times a day!

Someone recommended magnesium oil spray to me, I looked it up and it had loads of positive info about helping with morning sickness and fatigue. So I use that each night. I'm not sick but I still have limited appetite and I'm tired. I use the travel sick bands also when I feel sick or am eating or at work.
Salt and vinegar kettle chips and chopped strawberries and grapes with honey and Greek yoghurt seem to be the only things I reliably fancy atm. That and solero ice creams.
It's meant to peak soon at 8-9 weeks right 🤞

If you tell your employer they can’t discriminate against you. Also, if you do need to take time off, time taken for maternity-related illnesses can’t be used against you, either, and they’re recorded separately to any other sickness. Get a GP appointment ASAP, too. I assumed my sickness was normal - it wasn’t! Good luck.
