8 weeks pregnant

Hello everyone, severe worrier here!!

I am 8 weeks pregnant today, 2 miscarriages prior to this within the last year. I have been riddled with anxiety that something will go wrong again until I had a scan on Monday showing my baby with a strong heartbeat. The reassurance was short lived as I knew it would be.

I began taking cyclizine this week for my severe nausea (had HG in last pregnancy until miscarriage). I haven't taken any tablets in 3 days and seem to be feeling almost completely normal, I don't feel I need the tablets at all. So naturally I am now concerned that my nausea has disappeared.

Please can anyone shed light on their experience? From one worrier to another x

@Anxiousmom87 how are you today? I had a rough night, severe headache and was throwing up. I've persevered and come into work but not without pulling over on the commute to decorate the side of the road 😂 xx

@Sagittarius1 🤣🤣 oh dear I’m so sorry you’ve been unwell but I hope it’s eases your anxiety now that your experiencing some sickness

I’ve awful lower back pain today it’s really worrying me :( I hope it’s more related to the 4 hours sleep I’ve had and not anything else argh
I do feel sick today aswell
Just stress about everything I do xx

RiaG91 · 28/06/2021 11:13

I’m really sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages and your worries. I believe I’ve had 1 miscarriage, although it was never really confirmed, and I’m also experiencing a lot of anxiety about my baby. I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow.

So far, I haven’t experienced any nausea, but I do have tummy pains daily and my boobs have been tingling at times.

I keep worrying that I don’t feel nauseous, and yesterday I didn’t have any tummy pain so I was worrying again!

I guess it’s a blessing to not feel any sickness!

Sagittarius1 · 28/06/2021 12:35

@Anxiousmom87 it has definitely helped to calm me a little and we are that little bit closer to our 10 week scans. My booking app has been confirmed for Thursday morning now.

I'm sorry you're having a hard day, do you feel your symptoms are similar to what you experienced in your last pregnancies? Xx

@RiaG91 congratulations to you! Thank you, no one ever really warns you about the anxiety that comes along with being pregnant do they? Have you had any scans yet or plan to have any before 12 weeks? Xx

@Sagittarius1
Not at all, I never suffered like this. 😩
Hopefully the back pain is just things moving around and stretching.

Excited for your booking appointments can’t wait for you to fill us in xx

RiaG91 · 28/06/2021 13:12

No they don’t! Only the worries that parenthood brings post birth!

I’ve actually booked an early reassurance scan for this weekend, just to check everything. My first midwife appointment isn’t until 28th July, when I’ll be 11 weeks, and the NHS scan could be anytime within 3weeks after that. Haven’t even seen a doctor as they said it’s just down to the midwives!

Please to hear you have your appointment booked in. How have you been finding things?

Sagittarius1 · 28/06/2021 15:13

@Anxiousmom87 I am sure it is nothing to worry about (look at me trying to be the calm one lol). How old are your babies? Xx

@RiaG91 that is a good time to break up the wait, I will be thinking of you.
Other than the overall anxiousness I'm not feeling too bad, my symptoms are up and down but I am trying to remind myself this is normal at this stage. How about you? Xx

@Sagittarius1
I appreciate you being the calm one 🤣🤣

My children are 16 and 11
I’m clearly having a midlife crisis 🤣🤣🤣
Xx

ChaiTRex · 28/06/2021 23:33

This happened to me too! I thought was six weeks but was actually seven.
My in-laws were visiting and suddenly my nausea stopped, and what’s more the fatigue stopped. Then I started spotting, ugh!

I went for an early scan and everything was fine. Spotting has pretty much stopped (crossing my fingers).
I think symptoms come and go a lot in the first trimester. Also, Have you changed anything in your routine?I kind of clicked on what I had to do to set myself “right” in the morning. Honestly I just treat myself like I’m having a hangover - have two big glasses of water, a small cup of black coffee, and a bit of toast with vegan butter or like some small pastry - something starchy with a bit of fat. I’ve felt like 90% less nauseous since I started doing that

Anxiousmom87 · 29/06/2021 10:49

@Sagittarius1
Got my booking app for this coming Sunday, yay! Hope your okay today xx

expectinglittlebear · 29/06/2021 10:57

I am definitely with you on the sickness easing in week 8! I honestly thought I had gotten over it... but BAM week 9 hit (current week) and I feel like I have been on a choppy boat for a week straight. The nausea and sickness has been insane :(

Sagittarius1 · 29/06/2021 11:24

@Anxiousmom87 think of all the help your older ones will be able to give you tho ;) Pleased you have a date for your booking app, I didn't even realise a Sunday appointment was possible! How's the back pains today? Xx

@ChaiTRex that's a relief, I'm glad your scan went well! I think you are right about the routine, I was on annual leave from work when my nausea really kicked in. Since coming back to work I am eating little and often (probably out of boredom) and I think that has played a part in not feeling as sick as I haven't been letting myself get hungry xx

@expectinglittlebear your comment reassures me, I hope you don't feel too awful for too long but we all know how much we panic when things ease! Have you had a scan at all? Xx

@Sagittarius1
So grateful of this thread! I know I was shocked it’s on a Sunday, it will be telephone but that’s fine. Just hope 12 scan app won’t be long after that.
My back is much better today, have you had to make any stoppages this morning? 🤣

blackcurrantqueen · 29/06/2021 12:33

Hi ladies just to offer a little reassurance,

My sickness and nausea really settled week 8-9 (though on medication to help as it had been SO bad)
And I was really worrying it was a bad sign but I had a scan yesterday and all looked good!

So hopefully you guys will be the same 🤞🏼🥰

Nibletmum · 29/06/2021 12:37

I had my booking appointment yesterday. The midwife said to buy a squeezy fake lemon and put a couple of drops on your tongue when nausea hits. She reckons it gives your body a boost and prevents retching. I've not tried it! She also reckons sucking lemon sherbets help xx

Anxiousmom87 · 29/06/2021 12:58

Thankyou so much
@blackcurrantqueen and @Nibletmum

It’s so reassuring to hear from you both xx

Was it your 12 week scan @blackcurrantqueen

blackcurrantqueen · 29/06/2021 13:24

@Anxiousmom87 nope it was a 9 week scan as I have had previous losses xx

Anxiousmom87 · 29/06/2021 13:31

@blackcurrantqueen
So glad it was able to give you some relief, did your midwife say when you’ll hear about your next one? Xx

IloveGod2 · 29/06/2021 14:36

Hi ladies. Congrats to everyone. Hope I can join. I have my 9 wks plus scan in 2 days time. So excited and nervous after 2 previous mc. I pray all goes well. Currently vomiting like crazy and I'm taking lemon sherbet and crackers biscuit. I called gp but she said only to take medicine when it becomes unbearable cos of side effects so just gonna go with it and pray it eases soon🙏

Sagittarius1 · 29/06/2021 15:39

@Anxiousmom87 mine on Thursday is over the phone too. I didn't have to pull over this morning, just had the underlying nausea throughout the day xx

@blackcurrantqueen that's amazing news! Xx

@Nibletmum thank you, I've never thought of that but I may give it a go. I'm currently relying on rich tea biscuits and squash xx

@IloveGod2 eek! How exciting! I hope all goes well for you, I am in a similar situation with 2 losses and awaiting my scan at 9+6 next Friday xx

IloveGod2 · 02/07/2021 16:04

@Sagittarius1 hiya everyone. Had my scan yesterday and thank God all is well. Heard the heart beat & baby moving which was amazing. NHS would only show the flick lol. Have my nhs one on the 23rd. Count down begins. I pray we will all have our healthy babies and no harm will come our way. Amen. Does anyone know when the placenta will take over? I cant stop spitting 🤭

Nibletmum · 02/07/2021 17:08

So tired 😴 Had bloods on Monday with the midwife which were OK but think I'm going to buy some iron supplements anyway!

Got the other 2 kids off isolating at the moment too because of confirmed cases at the school so that doesn't help. Also got back to back 12 hour shifts this weekend.

Pray for me 😂

Anxiousmom87 · 02/07/2021 17:51

Thoughts n prayers to you @Nibletmum 🤣🤣🙈
