Hi!

I am in the process of finishing off my hospital bag - What size nappies did you put in your bag and also how many?

Thanks!

We packed size 0 and size 1 - luckily! DS turned up unexpectedly at 36 weeks so needed small ones for a good while.

We took 1 pack of size 1 nappies, a pack of cotton wool and our own cloth wipes.

We clothed bumed and wiped once we got home so didn't want to buy too many disposables.

She was 3.1 kg at birth and they were fine, a tad big but for the 3 days we were on the ward they sufficed. I had to refold all of my muslin cloth nappies once we got home as I had folded them a tad bigger than the size 1 nappies we had and they came up huge.

Cloth wipes are great and clean up the mess much easier than wipes. I actually prefer cotton wool to wipes. It's only now she is bigger and a fan of pulling all the cotton wool out and trying to eat it that I have switched to wipes as my backup.

I'm a big fan of cloth nappies too! We are using two parters so have an absorbant inner layer (we use muslins or Terry's) with a waterproof wrap on the outside. We have had some monstrous poos and never had to deal with a poonami situation (except a few times when we have been in disposables!)

DD was 10th centile and looking at the packs of 'newborn' nappies even she'd have been too big for them by quite some way so I'm not sure I'd be risking those....
