Hi I'm wanting to out vinyl flooring in my bedroom before baby is born as it's the cheapest option and funds are tight whilst all so buying for a new born!?
Carpet would cost between £250-£300 as it's a large room!? Would vinyl be an ok option my mum seems to think not but I don't see why the issue is?

Do you live in a house or a flat ? If it's a flat it won't be a noisy as wood, but won't absorb as much sound as carpet. Vinyl is fine, can be a bit sweaty underfoot, I think of it more a cheaper bathroom or kitchen thing.

You could put down carpet tiles yourself as they are cheaper ? If you get a shaggy or loop type pile you can't see the joins and they generally have underlay attached or can go over existing and you fit yourself or a friend/ partner. Places like B&Q do them.

We have vinyl flooring in our bedroom due to allergies. It’s fine, and like carpet you can get different thicknesses and qualities depending on how much you want to spend.

I’ve just put laminate floor down in my dds bedroom. £8 a square metre instead of at least £20 for carpet!

It’s actually really nice and looks much more expensive! Vinyl is very thin but can look just as nice.

I got some cheap really nice rugs from b and m for £20 to soften it up a bit x

Luxury vinyl planks or old school vinyl rolls? We have the former and it looks great, it's also been amazing for potty training, so glad we got rid of the carpet before we started!

Also babies don't need to be expensive - join your local parents fb group and you'll find people giving away a ton of baby stuff!
