So basically I had a GTT at around 32 weeks because I was measuring 3 weeks ahead at a routine appointment, I was referred for a scan to check on baby’s measurements and then sent for a GTT as baby’s HC was above 97th centile and AC was above 95th centile.
This all came back normal so it was just determined that I was growing a whopper and I would be scheduled a delivery planning app with a consultant. ( for reference I myself am 5’3 and my partner is 5’7 and both slim so this was unexpected).
I had another midwife app at 36+4 which again triggered a growth scan as again I was measuring 3 weeks ahead, the growth scan tallied with my other measurements and again the AC was above 95th centile.
So they’ve referred me for a glucose monitor and a discussion with a diabetic nurse. I’m now 37+4 and due to receive my monitor today and I have a meeting with a consultant on Friday…
Am I being ridiculous in thinking that there’s no point now? They’ve faffed me about so much and I’m so fed up. My local trust guidelines are to induce GD pregnancies at 38 weeks which I am edging very close towards so they surely wouldn’t spring that on me on Friday the day before I turn 38 weeks would they?!
I am fully aware of the risks of a GD pregnancy and the potential for a large baby and difficulty delivering a large first baby/shoulder dystocia etc.
Has this happened to anyone else? What was the outcome?
Thankyou!
