I'm 35 weeks pregnant tomorrow and due a growth scan this week as the baby is too small, over the last 2 days I've felt really not right, loads of pain and pressure don't know if I'm just fed up now or what but today I can feel her moving about but it just doesn't seem as strong as usual, really just looking for someone to put my mind at ease please!!

I had similar at the end of my pregnancy and it turned out to be just because there was less room for movement near the end. I hope it's the same for you and the scan reassures you.

try not to worry, but if you have any concerns at all, go and get checked out at hospital. They would much rather you seek reassurance than worry at home I'm sure. Maternity units can put you on the monitor and check all is well. Good luck

Thank you for the messages!! Im going to run a bath and try relax for a bit, if I still feel the same I'll maybe ring get them just to check, I know once I've had my scan I'll feel 10x better about everything!

Go and get checked. The whole moving less cos of lack of space thing is a myth. Hope everything is ok.

The only people who will put your mind at rest are the triage team at your maternity hospital, not some random people on a forum. Contact them and I’m pretty sure they will want to see you.

Ring the hospital and ask for their advice! Best thing to do for your baby and to put your mind at rest.

Peach01 · 20/06/2021 15:48

Get it checked OP. I was like this towards the end and made every excuse for it for a couple of days because I felt the odd movement but it wasn't the same or as strong. Got checked and there was something wrong, baby was going too long without moving. I had to be induced and labour became very complicated. Please don't take any chances with this. You're better to get it checked and have it turn out to be okay.
It also means if you have another period of this before you're due the hospital will treat it differently than if it were the first time.

Thank you for everyone's messages, I'm going to ring up the hospital for some advice. I hate having to do it as the last time I had to go up the consultant I got wasn't very helpful, the midwives were all great it was just the dr that made me feel stupid for being there in the first place.

I went in twice and first time I only saw midwives who discharged me after being happy with everything. Second time only reason I saw drs and consultants was because midwives weren’t happy with my blood pressure and urine sample. Said consultant decided as I was past 37 weeks therefore classed as full term he did not want to take any risks so induced me that day. Pre-eclampsia test came back negative but second instance of reduced movements was enough for induction.

Don't let anyone put you off. The dr is an idiot for making you feel that way because now your hesitant. You're the mum to be, you're carrying the baby. You're not stupid for checking the wellbeing of your baby. I never wanted to bother them either and I waited. Please don't wait and update with how you get on. Good luck! I'm sure everything will be okay but you're best to get checked.
olidora63 · 20/06/2021 16:15

Am glad you are getting checked out …any decent midwifery unit would prefer 100 false alarms than that one time a mum to be didn’t want to bother them and everything went wrong. 💐
