2 wombs 1 cervix

This is probably the strangest question but I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else had something similar. I found out I have a bicornuate uterus which means I have 2 wombs and 1 cervix.

Just wondering if anyone else has this or something similar and had a successful pregnancy? 4 losses later I’m losing faith that my body will carry a baby.

I get pregnant very fast, literally every cycle I’ve tried has resulted in a baby but we never get very far. The furthest we have got has been my recent pregnancy which got to 8w2d before the heartbeat stopped. We’re finally getting to see a fertility specialist but we’ve been told it won’t be until end of September.

I just need to hear some positive stories or some sort of encouragement because right now I just want to give up on the whole TTC.

Thanks in advance xo

💐 I’m so sorry for your loss.

Not me OP, but someone I know had two or three pregnancies that ended in miscarriage, then a healthy pregnancy that went to term. I believe in her case one womb was larger than the other and that side was the one that carried the successful pregnancy, the others were in the smaller side.

I’m so sorry. It’s got to be a good thing that you seen to have no trouble conceiving. I hope the specialist can help.

Thank you & thank you for sharing. It's refreshing to know that I might get there after all.

It's just so disappointing that I can conceive so easily but cannot carry the pregnancy. I haven't been told if I have a smaller or bigger side but they suspect my left side won't carry a pregnancy as my left side pregnancies seem to terminate quickly however my recent MMC was on the right horn so I'm not sure if it's just been bad luck or if the right side doesn't work either. So many unknowns! Confused

A friend of mine had one and she had repeated mcs and it was only resolved by having surgery. A specialist gynaecologist surgeon performed the surgery (based in Bristol) to correct the shape and she subsequently went on to have two children.

@thingymaboob wow that amazing! I asked my doctor about surgery to correct the issue and they said that it would be highly unlikely as the risk of infertility is too high. They said that if i didn't end up infertility after surgery then I would be left with a lot of scarring they said future pregnancies would be more likely to implant into scar tissue which doesn't result in a healthy pregnancy 😕

Although that wasn't from the fertility specialist that was from the doctor who performed my D&C. I appreciated their honesty but it made me feel like I had very limited options when it comes to TTC. We've always hoped for a big family but I'm not sure my body would manage 3 or 4 babies 😩
