How did you get through the first 12 weeks?

I had a miscarriage in April, and just found out I am pregnant again and I am 4 weeks. I am feeling a lot more positive about this one, the first one felt off from the start (although I made it to 8-9 weeks) however how am I meant to last the full 12 weeks without worrying all the time? I am sure the answer is “I didn’t” but do you have any tips that will help the next 8 weeks fly by?

Also, if you have had a miscarriage and conceived again afterwards, did you decide to get an early scan? And did that help? I wouldn’t bother until 8 weeks+ to ensure I can see something, but I am not sure if it’s going to temporarily patch up the worry.

So sorry for your previous loss but Congratulations for your current pregnancy!

I had 2 consecutive MC in Feb & March and then found out I was pregnant again in April. I chose to have a couple of early scans just for peace of mind and although we've just found out it has sadly ended in a MMC for the first 8 weeks it helped me a lot knowing that things were progressing well. It's just been unfortunate that our baby wasn't strong enough. I also have underlying issues with my uterus so I know my consistent losses is quite rare. I have said that for my pregnancy I will get an early scan again it was really helpful for my anxiety to see things were okay. I was glad I found out about my MMC when I did rather than waiting until my 12 week appointment and being even more hurt thinking I was in the safe zone.

Wishing you all the very best for your pregnancy. Sorry my story wasn't a little more positive but as I mentioned my uterus doesn't like to grow a baby - please don't think your pregnancy will go the same way 💕

I’m very sorry about your loss, it’s a horrible thing to go through. I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant after a miscarriage at 10 weeks..to be honest I don’t feel like I’ll fully relax until this one is full term and safely out! I got an early scan at 10 weeks, it did help but a couple days after that scan and then 12 week one my mind starts worrying again.

I’ve just tried to keep busy and keep telling myself that it’s out of my control I just have to hope for the best. I already have one daughter which helps in the keeping busy part!

I’ve just started to feel little movements (a lot earlier this time!) and this is helping reassure me so I think when you get to that stage it will help :) good luck I hope everything goes well for you!

Sorry for your losses. I'm currently nearly 9 weeks following a loss at 5 months, ruptured ectopic and another miscarriage that required 2 Erpcs to finally clear things... I agree with others. Try to keep busy.

I'm trying to keep busy, not get too excited and taking each day as it comes / not getting ahead of myself so I'm trying not to think further than a week ahead pregnancy wise. I did opt for an early scan at 6 weeks, but that is because I was a high risk for an ectopic. Really hope all goes well for you.

Yes, I had lots of early scans. First one at 7 weeks and then very regularly (1-2 weeks) after that. Only think that kept me almost vaguely sane tbh!
