Hi all, first time posting on here

I had an early scan this morning at what I thought was 8+2, only to be told that I'm measuring 5+4 with no sign of a heartbeat 😔 is it possible to measure that far behind? Is there any hope at all with this one?

I have had 2 miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy since Jan 2021, and cannot believe this may be happening again.

My CRL was 3.7 mm
Gestational sac: 11×15×15 mm

Ovaries looked healthy

Her comment was "5 week pregnancy sac and possible yolk sac and fetal pole no more than 5 and a half weeks, no obvious heartbeat"

I would be so grateful for any thoughts, especially if you had had a similar experience 🙏😔

Not really to be honest, the only sign I have had is increased breast size and occasional breast twinges, and am still getting those today and they are still bigger than usual x

@JessSpurls I’m busy with DC but I’ll PM later.

No advice but I'm in a similar position and it's horrible. 7ish weeks and measured 5 and a half. I had a really early bfp, was charting with opks and temping so I know when I ovulated etc.

I'm preparing myself mentally to miscarry. It's horrible, sorry you're going through it too.

@SemiFeralDalek so sorry you're going through this too, hopefully in a few weeks we'll have better news x

It's topped me over into depression I think. I was teetering on the edge as it is. It's been a really really tough time. I lost my second little boy at 21+4 in November, had a chemical pregnancy at 5 weeks in January, this was supposed to be my rainbow baby.

JessSpurls · 18/06/2021 09:46

@SemiFeralDalek I'm so sorry, you've suffered so much loss, this will be my 4th miscarriage so to some extent I can relate, hopefully we'll get positive news later this year 😔

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it all turns out okay!

I did a lot of reading into this when I went forcmy 12 week scan to find my baby only measured 10 weeks I was sure my dates were correct and am still to this day confused as to how they were so wrong.. but two weeks later later had developed and grown and was 12 weeks. When I was reading and thinking the worse I found there were a lot of posts online about this some had positive outcomes and some didn't so I tried to keep positive as best as I could. It wasn't quite the same for me as there was a heartbeat but had I gone for an early reassurance scan as I briefly considered I might do I would have probabbaly had the same shock and worry and lack of heart beat.

So my fingers are crossed and I'm hoping for you that will all turn out okay in the end. Xx

Hey, how did it go for you?

JessSpurls · 06/01/2023 13:18

Hi maxi123, I ended up losing the baby which was devastating. Went to recurrent miscarriage clinic and they prescribed progesterone, gave birth to a beautiful boy in October!

Thanks for replying and congrats on your son! Sorry for the loss you had to endure first.

Im on my 4th pregnancy and I started progesterone on the very first day I tested positive. I went for an early scan at 5weeks 3 days and they only saw a sac and yolk pole.

I need to go back in a few weeks and rescan. I’m so nervous.

how did you go on the progesterone?
im having pregnancy symptoms and I tended to lose them in the past pregnancies. But I’m scared that’s just the progesterone. My lines are still strong but I still have so much anxiety.

any words of wisdom would be great x x

JessSpurls · 06/01/2023 16:47

Thank you, sorry for your losses too. Usually heartbeat isn't visible until 6-7 weeks, fingers crossed your next scan will bring good news 🤞

The only symptom I had from the progesterone was enlarged boobs, and I was worried for a while about lack of other symptoms, then morning sickness hit HARD at about 8 weeks and by 11 weeks I neede anti-sickness medication.

Try and stay positive between now and your next scan, and I felt better once I stopped using hpts

I hope it all goes well for you xx
