Its seems with lowere immunity that comes with pregnancy my hayfever is really acting up.The only medicine that actually works (in the past) was prescription strength which I cannot have now.Arw there any tried and tested simple solutions to ease the symptoms ?

I tried Vaseline around my nostrils and surprisingly helped! I'm still sneezing but nowhere near as much. I don't tend to get itchy eyes just a sore throat and sneezes x

I’ve honestly never found anything that works as well as medication but things I’ve done in the past:

  • undress and shower as soon as you get home. Do not bring clothes that you’ve worn outside into your living/sleeping areas
  • keep all your windows shut and invest in good air purifiers
  • Vaseline around the nostrils
  • a well fitted facemask (one that requires you to breathe through the material instead on sucking air in around the sides)
  • very gentle face wipes that you can use to wipe down your eye area on occasion while outside
  • watch the pollen forecasts. Some days you do have to limit your times outside!

Hay fever sucks, you have my sympathies!

there are some medications that you can take.
over the counter ones: loratadine or ceririzine
if those don't work you might be suitable to take a steroid nose spray, ask youf gp.

I normally use over-the-counter stuff but trying not to use too much during pregnancy. Instead, as soon as I wake up I use a saltwater spray (Sterimar) to clear my nose of anything I've breathed in overnight, then use Becodefence Plus, which coats the inside of your nose. You can use both a few times a day. Both available from Boots/Sains/Amazon/wherever, both drug-free. Seems to be working so far for me!
