I know this is a very popular subject when it comes to pregnant woman. Confused

I'm 9 weeks and 30 years old, I'm due for my vaccine next Thursday and I'm all over the place trying to find as much information as I can.

Has anyone had their Covid vaccine in early pregnancy? Or did you wait until 12 weeks?

Did you have any symptoms?

Following as I would like to know the same!

I am 6+4 and 25 and just been called up for my vaccine but still on the fence about getting it done in pregnancy or wait until after!

I had my 2nd jab at 4 weeks exactly (the day after I found out I was pregnant).

Spent the day speaking to nurses, midwives and attempting to get in touch with my GP (although the receptionist wouldn't let me speak to anyone just said "it's fine in pregnancy"). Everyone was happy for me to have it.

I also told the doctor doing the jab I was pregnant and he was happy for me to have it.

Had very few symptoms, although I was slightly warm the next day, but nowhere near a fever.

I had my Pfizer jab at 7 wks+1. The current data looks very positive and anecdotally there are lots of women in America who have had both doses in the first trimester as they shorten the interval to 3 weeks. Most haven't given birth yet but their anatomy scans look good. There is a great subreddit called CovidBumpers where people are discussing this at length.

I spoke to a doctor when I got the jab and they said they believed the only risk in the first trimester is fever but the risk of that is very low with the Pfizer jab. I bought paracetamol just in case but I had no side effects apart from a slightly sore arm.

I am in an area with increasing cases and I just wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if I had a full on fever from COVID and the potential issues with placenta reported in some journals knowing that the current data for the vaccine is looking good.

I had mine at 12+6 because that’s when I was called up.

However, on the symptoms side, with the exception of a sore arm the symptoms of pzifer are similar to pregnancy. My limbs felt a bit heavier and my arm hurt for about 24 hours, otherwise it was a normal pregnancy day. DH had the jab at the same time and was complaining he was fatigued - I couldn’t tell any difference and told DH he could pretend he was pregnant for the day. Oh, but he’d need to add a few more symptoms like nausea and maybe flatulence!

I didn’t have Pfizer so I can’t help there. I had my first dose of AZ before I fell pregnant and the second dose at 5 weeks. Had absolutely no symptoms at all with the second dose even though I’d had chills and fatigue with the first.

This is so reassuring hearing your stories in early pregnancy.

I'm 9+4 and I've been in touch with my obstetrician to get more information if I'm ok to get it next week or wait until I'm 12 week. She recommends me waiting until I'm passed the 12 week mark.

I haven't heard of any pregnant woman getting the Moderna yet.. I'm unsure what they are doing in the area I'm in.

I had my 1st around conception (I didn't know) I had the Pfizer one. I'll be getting my 2nd dose in trimester 2. The only reason I'm holding off is becuae u can get a fever as a symptom with the vaccine and a fever is more dangerous in the 1st trimester.

My midwife says it totally my choice.

I've changed the date of mine to 2nd trimester although I don't think I have any reason for doing so. I just felt more comfortable doing that.

The only pain is that I keep getting asked if I've had my vaccine and people are curious why mine is so late when people younger than me are now getting theirs. Pregnancy still a secret 🤫

Laurab20 · 10/06/2021 17:03

@ApplePie86 I'm in the exact same position, pregnancy is still a secret and they wonder why I haven't been called up yet. 🙈

I think I'll feel much better changing appointment to my second trimester as already so much worry when your in the first trimester. I'll hopefully be able to change mine later to when I'm over 12 weeks.

Is yours now when your just 12 weeks or over?

@Laurab20 Such nosey people aren't they 😂

Mine was schedule for when I was just shy of 10 weeks. I'm actually getting married when I'll be 15 weeks and have rescheduled vaccine for when I'm 16 weeks.

I've told some people I just have too much going on with wedding planning (couldn't be further from the truth 😂).

You could always tell people you went for your appointment but they only had AZ left and because you're under 40 they couldn't give you it and the only appointment they could reschedule to was in a few weeks time 🤔

Laurab20 · 10/06/2021 17:25

@ApplePie86 Yes!! 🤣🙈

Aww wow congratulations!

That's when mine was booked for I'd be just over 10 weeks. I was thinking on rescheduling mine for when I'm around 14 weeks.

That's a good excuse and they'll take that I'm sure as wedding planning can be stressful.

Oh! Now I didn't think of that one 🙊 thanks for that great excuse, think I will definitely use that next time someone asks me!! 😂
