First baby and an Anterior placenta

Went for a private gender scan a few weeks ago and the sonographer told me that I have an anterior placenta so may take a while for me to feel the baby move. Just wondering to anyone else who has had an anterior placenta how long it took for you to feel the baby moving?

I'm 32 weeks with my first and have an anterior placenta :) For me it's not massively impacted my pregnancy - I felt first movements around 16 weeks, and now feel plenty of strong rolls, pressure and a few kicks. My early movements were just kicks, now he has less space I feel more wriggles. The only time I have had an issue is at around 24 weeks - he turned from head down to feet down and I could hardly feel him for about a week. I guess my placenta is on the low side and that was cushioning his kicks. As soon as he turned back to head down again I knew about it as started getting strong kicks all of a sudden up near by ribs again x

I felt nothing until about 20 weeks with both DSs because I had anterior placentas. After that I felt plenty! Good luck with you pregnancy!

Thank you. 18 weeks tomorrow and not felt anything yet. Fingers crossed it won’t be long until I do

I've had it in 2 pregnancies, but have always felt the kicks on either side. However my first was transverse all the way through (had CS) and although I'm only at 21 weeks with this one, again the last scan showed it is laying across, which is why I can feel so much kicking on my left side. If it were more upright, I can't imagine I was be feeling anything as I can't feel any movement at the front.

Hi, I’m also due with my first baby and have an anterior placenta. I didn’t feel any movement until about 19 weeks. I’m now 25 weeks and the baby is breech and I don’t feel much at all. I had a scan last week and could see the baby kicking away at the placenta and I couldn’t feel a thing!

I didn't feel any movement until about 22weeks. Didn't get regular strong movements until after thirty weeks, before that was a bit worrying at times. Anterior placenta affects everyone differently though, many people feel lots of movement. Was also my first baby which probably didn't help.

First baby and anterior placenta here (currently 31 weeks). Felt first subtle movements at about week 19. They have gotten more pronounced over time and mostly felt on the sides, but there were days I didn't feel anything, even during the ultrasound scan when I could see the baby was very active and moving

My twins both have it.

The midwifes never mentioned it really as I think they want you to focus on the movements that are normal for you.

I would say I properly started feeling movements around 22 weeks? Even now at 31 weeks they are quite tame compared to DD!
