Movement not like it used to be (22 weeks)

Hi everyone
I'm starting to get a little freaked out.
I started feeling baby move at 16 weeks and then at 20 and 21 weeks I couldn't believe how strong his kicks where, I could see the kicks and my partner could also feel them. His kicks where almost like clock work also, few minutes at 10am, then again at 1pm and then 6pm and then felt like he was playing football at 8pm
But the day I became 22 weeks (3 days ago) his movements have been so minor to the point they don't feel like kicks anymore, the clockwork movement is no longer there. I can't see his kicks and like I said they arnt as often and when he does move its very very soft.
Is it possible he has moved back? I feel like ive grown in just a week.
Can anyone shed some light on this please. I'm so scared

I should also add when I lay down my stomach isn't feeling as solid as it was. Also I'm not having any abnormal discharge, no bleeding, no leaking. Nothing

I think if I was you I would maybe ask the midwife/phone the triage at hospital maybe. It might just put your mind at ease.

Call the hospital, it's what they are there for. They won't mind, you're not bothering them as if there is something wrong you can do something about it.

Try not to panic. More than possible that the baby has shifted.

When I was pregnant and had less movement they advised me to lie on my side and have an ice cold dizzy drink. Preferably with some caffeine.

Might be worth a try whilst you call? Better to ring and not be needed than to wait. Midwives always say they'd rather have a million unnecessary calls than miss one important one.

Good luck OP Cake

Fizzy not dizzy! 😂

I have messaged my midwife, I didn't think I should call because it was 9pm when I really started to panick and didnt want to bother her if its normal. she hadn't replied which is why I thought I'd come on here and ask aswel. I'm just really hope he has moved and that's why his movements are off

Can you call the local midwife unit at the hospital? Probably more chance of being able to speak to someone rather than waiting for your community midwife?

JewelGarden · 07/06/2021 23:14

Good to ask your midwife but I don't think there's anything to worry about. Kicks and movements do feel different depending on which part of the body the baby is kicking into. Baby will still be moving regularly at your stage and has probably just changed position. Hopefully your midwife can reassure you tomorrow.

Laura199214 · 10/06/2021 09:26

Midwife still hasn't replied to me.
But I'm starting to feel him move again, not as often as I I a couple of weeks ago and yesterday he had a couple of stronger kicks. So I'm not as worried as I was but still would be nice for my midwife to get back to either explain whats happened or with some advice!
I'm a first time mum, I don't know what's going on!
Thanks everyone will keep you updated

Laura ring the community midwives, your own midwife might be on leave or something

georgarina · 10/06/2021 19:38

Hey, in my experience they'll ask you to lie on your side and drink something cold and sweet, then wait an hour. I would try that and then ring them if you don't feel any kicks. Good luck x
