Does that mean I'm actually 1-2 weeks pregnant?
I'm confused as nhs website says they go by day of last period but unsure why?

I found out today I'm pregnant so need to call my gp.

My head is spinning, haven't been able to concentrate at work today at all, I'm feeling so many different emotions

Clear blue go by conception so yes you'll be 1-2 weeks post conception but the hospital and midwife go by the date of your last period so really your probably about 4 weeks pregnant ☺️

dementedpixie · 07/06/2021 16:47

You add 2 weeks on so you are 3-4 weeks pregnant

Garman · 07/06/2021 16:47

You add 2 weeks onto that. No need to call gp so soon.

sarahc336 · 07/06/2021 16:49

And everyone goes by date of first day of last period as trying to pin point the date of actual conception would be really hard so that's the most specific and concrete date anyone can go by xx

Chelyanne · 07/06/2021 17:17

That's estimated weeks from conception so add 2 weeks on.
Midwives and GP date you from lmp early on but will give you your official EDD from the measurements taken at your dating scan.

Check your local hospitals website for a self referral page for the midwife team.

I remember being so confused when I got pregnant.

The dating assumes a 4 week (28 day cycle) with day 1 being the first day of your last period.

You conceive during ovulation, assumed to be day 14 of your cycle. So when you conceive, you’re already two weeks into your cycle.

The digital tests measure from the day you conceived.

Clinicians measure it from day 1 of your cycle.

So if clear blue says 1-2 weeks, that means 1-2 weeks since you conceived, so technically 3-4 weeks pregnant.

You may not need to see your GP at all as many areas now have self referral for maternity services. GPs don’t need to see you unless you have any medical issues, and they won’t do a test to confirm.

Yes. Gestation is 38 weeks (with the exception of premature/overdue). I've found Clearblue to be spot on.
Dr/midwife add on 2 weeks because they can't tell exactly the date of conception so you're 40 weeks in total.

Found out am 1-2 weeks am so confused because now saying online that it's more 3-4 or it's not obulatiled yet but took four clear blue digital test and all say 1-2 weeks

dementedpixie · 02/05/2023 16:23

1-2 weeks on a digital test means 3-4 weeks pregnant as the test counts from conception but your pregnancy is dated from your last period which is about 2 weeks before conception would be.

I found out that we are 1-2 weeks pregnant from the clear blue pregnancy test and I am having currently brown coloured discharge? What does this mean?

Mo2024 · 25/04/2024 09:11

This was my result on Tuesday.
