Mine wasn’t quite so soon after, but was booked on for cs again as they don’t like to induce you after a previous cs. They booked me in at 42 weeks, but baby had other ideas and arrived at 40+2. I would say my only advice would be - from 40 weeks try acupressure, sex, pineapple, exercise- whatever it takes to get baby moving. Stay mobile in labour and this is the most important thing- all births are different. You may end up with a cs to save baby and you from harm. You will cope - you will be ok. Just prepare yourself mentally. X

I would say informing yourself about the reasons why doctors might recommend induction/c-section over waiting for spontaneous labour is really important. My midwife recommended Sara Wickhams book ‘Inducing Labour: making informed decisions’ and it’s been really helpful for me to understand why current recommendations are what they are and has given me more confidence to question where the one size fits all approach is best for me.

I would also carefully consider where you choose to give birth. Birth centres and home births generally have much lower rates of intervention, reduced chance of infection and reduced chances of PPH when compared to hospital delivery suites.

I think most trusts recommend that VBACs are in hospital rather than birth centres or at home but it’s worth having the conversation to understand more about the risks in relation to your specific situation. It is ultimately your choice regardless of recommendations.

I got pregnant 1 year after a C-section. I was induced because DS was 10 days late - there are induction options for a vbac, but they go a bit softer on the hormones so chances of success are a bit lower. I actually really enjoyed my vbac except for the last half hour and really glad that I went for it. I had had a previous vaginal birth though (before my C-section) so I suspect that helped. Good luck!

I did a birthing course before my vbac which involved some hypnobirthing and lots of explanations about the how labour works and how deep breathing and staying calm and relaxed helps with hormone levels. I found that really helpful.
