ClearBlue 'pregnant' now 'not pregnant'

Hi all, please can I ask for some advice? I had a mmc in March with my first pregnancy and my first period afterwards started on 9th May. My cycles vary from 24-29 days, but on average are 26 days (so period should have been due yesterday based on 26 days). We took a digital ClearBlue test on Wednesday evening and again on Thursday morning & both said 'pregnant'. I did a digital ClearBlue this morning and it says 'not pregnant'. Please can you help as my husband and I are really worried. I also did a line ClearBlue this morning - please can I use your line eyes?? Thank you so much x

I can see a line.

Get one of the digital ones that will explicitly tell you.

Unfortunately all you can do is play the waiting game, give it a few days and test again. If it comes up positive then great. If not then it's likely a chemical pregnancy.

I can’t see a line

If not pregnant can mean hcg levels dropping sharply

cookiecreampie · 05/06/2021 11:08

The digital tests are not as sensitive as the other tests and I don't think they are 100% reliable if you're testing quite early. But as you have missed a period I'd think it would have given you a more solid line than that one. Possibly a chemical pregnancy or you may have ovulated later if your cycles are not usually regular and could still be pregnant. Personally I would get a few First Response tests and monitor the lines on them as they seem to give clearer results than Clearblue. Good luck.

Those clearblue digitals need higher levels of HCG to come up as positive - I'll bet you anything by Monday morning it'll say 'Pregnant'. Good luck!!

I'd agree with this. Maybe the third digital was wrong, as cookiecreampie said, or maybe not unfortunately. Really hoping that things work out for you, the uncertainty is so hard I know.

I think a couple of people have posted to this thead without reading the OP properly. It's not fair to do that to people.

Thank you very much for your reply and support. A stupid question, but when would you suggest testing again?

I think you need to wait a week before testing again. You’ve probably tested too early.

LizzieAnt · 05/06/2021 12:31

Whatever makes it easiest for you OP. There is sense in waiting a bit, but I know personally I would find that very hard and would probably test every day. I think it's important to test first thing in the morning though, so you're comparing like with like as much as possible. If you test later in the day, after having lots of fluids, the results mightn't be comparable. Wishing you the very best of luck.
